In the original poem, "the land of the free" referred to the free white man, not the enslaved black man... read the full poem to understand fully..."Their blood has washed out, their foul footsteps’ pollution. No refuge could save, the hireling and slave, From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave: And the star-spangled banner, in triumph doth wave, O’er the land of the free, and the home of the brave."

i get what you are saying, but the performance was great. i’ve seen you comment on almost everyone’s post with this same comment above. just let people enjoy the talent that the boy possesses. i know the history but that’s not what this video is about.
@keeganwilliams32646 жыл бұрын
Aman A i understand where you are coming from. you are standing up for a great cause but this is this kids time to shine. he meant no harm. whites were slaves as well at one point, as was other races, maybe not as severe but it happened. we shall never forget, you are 100% correct. safe to say we are all slaves of the government now, am i right?
@keeganwilliams32646 жыл бұрын
Angela Barry “slide under my carpet of history” ... i literally said in my last post that we shall never forget what happened about slavery lmao
@keeganwilliams32646 жыл бұрын
Angela Barry slavery doesn’t exist anymore, so your days are gone as well. it’s good to remember the past but if you live in it forever, you’ll never move forward. stop pulling the race card on everything. damn it’s annoying. you feel like the world owes you something. people are oppressed everyday, of all races. some more severe but it happens. the world doesn’t owe you a single damn thing. you seem like one of those people who wouldn’t talk to me in real life because i’m white and you thought i had something to do with slavery lol. before you get to name calling, grow up and be an adult. open your eyes and stop having so much hatred in your heart. racism works both ways nowadays. you can’t be a white person in today’s society without automatically being saw as a racist from a person of color.
@keeganwilliams32646 жыл бұрын
Angela Barry goes both ways. you’ll never be able to experience the stuff we have to go through and i’m sorry for you never understanding that as well
