I really love this Study Bible. I also purchased the hardcover in 2022. I have the NRSV Translation. Following along with your flip-thru, I noticed the headers are different in my Translation, and my version also has "Notes" pages in the back where I can write notes. Mine unfortunately did not have a Presentation page for some reason. I enjoyed your flip-thru!

Great Review. I have the NRSV version of this study Bible, chose NRSV given the academic nature of this resource. Notes, commentary and articles are first class.

Thank you for this review. I have ordered the NKJV this morning. It will be nice resource in addition to daily bible study. Understanding the ancient cultures of those times, and how they are simular to today.

I have this bible in NKJV and the only thing I wish it had was the Apocryphal/Deuterocanonical books. I'm Catholic, so I do accept them, but even if I didn't, having those books with the same level of detailed cultural notes would be *invaluable.* I would pay whatever they asked if they published a Catholic or "with Apocrypha" edition. No matter how expensive, I'd find a way 😅 That said, it would have been a lot more work for the team working on this bible AND including them would have turned a bigger part of the market off than their exclusion does, so I get why they didn't. But a girl can dream 😆

@جن كلابي Oh, I love the NRSV and have a few. I was planning to get this one in NRSV, too, but I happened to find an unbeatable deal on the NKJV edition so I jumped since the notes were the main draw 😊

The church I grew up in thought that "Biblical context" meant the verses before and after.

Is it hard to navigate electronically? The only bible I have on kindle is kinda hard to figure out. The info in it is pretty cool. I’m gonna enjoy it for a long time. As always thanks for the support and encouragement JD!!

@@ClaimingChristianity i have it on Accordance software, so I can put the note content side by side with the actual bible text, in two panes. This works really well. I think there are advantages for both electronic and physical, however with the electronic you do loose that tactile feel of being able to browse through a book. (Also dog earring a page can be bad for the screen😁)

Since Craig Keener and J. Walton are the Authors of this Cultural Backgrounds SB and of the IVP Bible Background Commentary as well,.....If i already have the IVP Commentary of them....that means that I already have all or maybe even more of the study notes that are in the Cultural Backgrounds SB ??

There's probably a lot thats the same yes. But the SB has other commenters and illustrations and such. I don't have the IVP Commentary so I can't speak all that knowledgeably. But SB's are comprised of MANY commentators. So you'd prob get quite a few different comments.

brother good to see your videos as always I saw this Bible in Lebanon and I drooled over it unfortunately it is very expensive due to hyperinflatiooon (maybe the word you were looking for "creamy color") is it smyth sewn? once you go bible papers on the maps, you will never be able to see the glossy maps looks awesome !

Hmm.. I've considered buying this Bible, 'cause the idea is pretty cool. But I saw it has some pictures in it of statuettes with the male genitals, which is kind of weird.
