I went there before , and YES, you don’t need a guide for an easy access road at Madakaripura! There’s a lot of scammers around Indonesia hotspot. So just be careful not to trus them simply.

An amazing waterfall, one of my highlights in East Java. The swimming pool at the top is actually 7m deep so plenty safe enough to swim in if you fancy it.

I visited this place. declined the tour guide services from Waterfall Mafia. Once i got near the main waterfall they closed it with the caution tape and a sign saying its its closed. This action was done purposely because they new i didn't hire a guide. As soon as i started leaving they removed the tape and the sign. If this was the case i would have never visited. why did the entrance let me in just to walk down to find out its closed. These people want 200k Rupia just to walk with you and they will harass. I love to pay more as an entrance fee but not entrance fee and a idiot to walk with you. This is very normal in almost every waterfall in Indonesia. If the tiny waterfalls cost more than visiting Niagra falls people stop visiting these places. Indonesian government needs to pay attention sake of keeping the tourism industry.

The main waterfall is confirmed not allowed to enter. Chill. Just because ure not from that area, doesn't mean they are cheating your money. It's for ur own safety because it's deep and dangerous.

You have to understand if this continues you will have few people visiting. I know due to poverty everyone is trying to make a buck. But at 200k is it worth it? In the long run when the there are youtube vids reviews people will stop coming there.

@@hobolyf nobody is harassing you. U are just paranoid thinking u come from a rich country and that everyone wants to cheat ur money. In case u are wondering the reason why they close that area is because few ppl died of land slide and if u can't handle this criticism, I suggest don't go to these type of countries. Instead, go to countries that u think ppl won't harass u.
