I think he is one of the very few honest, funny comedians worldwide. He doesn't have to cuss and swear to make his acts or radio interviews funny, I respect him so much as a comedian, he has the ability in a conversation, just to make more of it, and make it memorable. It must be hard, to know everybody is hanging on to every word you say, Ithink he carries himself extremely well. Viva Ricky Gervais!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ricky Gervais. Is hands down the most talented comic of my life time. I'm 27yo. Please tell me who comes close. . . And I love the fact he leads the wealthy and mums the word, cause he does from the heart not to get famous. If you don't think the is brilliant watch the series extras. E.G. when he tells the cameras off n the "surreal life/ big brother House" pure genius the way he wove speaking to all of Hollywood into that moment

Ricky Gervais is also quite left wing and often says "I love paying tax". I've also heard him say "I owe everything to Britain. My family was poor, but my education and health were all paid for by the state. Whatever I earn now, I think 'half of it is mine, half belongs to my country' "

He is a comedian, that's an act. It makes you more comfortable with the public situation that your are in. Just look at Golden Globes, do you think he would have made such a good impression if he would have acted like he does in his personal life, with his family and friends?! It would have sucked balls, because he would be the shiest person out there, especially surrounded by that many famous people.

i think people get uncomfortable with those subjects only when it's a comedian about to make a joke because they're afraid they're too dumb to understand the joke and they think they'll laugh at the wrong time...why else would they treat comedians any differently
@DickDickstein10 жыл бұрын
Certainly there are people like that, and they DO take offense in situations such as that, but they aren't the people that make the most noise I don't think. The people taking to campaigns and trying to get people to ban comedians have an agenda of their own, and they cover many of them in this interview like just wanting attention, someone to notice them for their own selfish needs, and in many cases to get notice for an agenda they have like pro-life, rape victims, etc. Dispicable and selfish people that think they are entitled, and their more important than everyone else. MAny times they don't understand the joke either so that definitely plays into what you are saying too...lol
@danimalplanimal10 жыл бұрын
yeah you're probably right....I guess the ones you really have to avoid are the ones who feel entitled to never be "offended" AND are also just too dumb to get the jokes
@chebob200910 жыл бұрын
I disagree. A lot of people who have this "I'm offended so I'm going to....." attitude are quite intelligent. Personally I think it comes from the fact that people in general don't recognise that their/our morals are largely axiomatic (i.e you can't prove them with logic). People don't want to admit that so they NEED to silence anything they disagree with because they know if they had to argue with it, there's really nothing they can say to win the argument.

I loved the genuine aggravation in Anthony's voice when he rings. Gervais can so fcking irritating man, especially when he contrives that shrieking laugh and laughs over whatever challenges him. He does it on his own show (xfm London). Asshole sounds like he literally can't breathe at something barely considered a joke by everyone else around him.
