Eventually Jim started becoming unjustifiably cranky towards Bobo and the idiot fans started blindly repeating it when he said things like "Bobo is self obsessed" when actually he just doesn't know better. I think the truth is that talentless ass Opie often used the "Ill take Bobo's call then yell at him for calling" bit to annoy Jim (often doing it while Jim was in the middle of something) and Jim was actually pissed at Opie, but took it out on Bobo.

Is this the birth of the boys accusing Bobo of fucking his brother? They haven't used any of their standard phrasings, Bobo's not repeatedly saying "that never happened". Bobo keeps insisting they "Misheard him" or somthing like that, but he's saying it in a different way than in later segments (with the later ones possibly refering to this specific moment). He also seems to be getting extremely worked up over it, whereas later on he seems to more or less go along with it aknowledging that it's a funny bit.

Numerous reasons. They kind of pumped up his importance for a while, making him feel like he was great and getting places (like opening at the stress factory) then they mocked him for it. Then opie would take his calls every Friday or at random when he wanted to piss of Jimmy, usually breaking up some bit with "hi who's this" "nyeah its me bobo..." Jim would take out his rage on bobo. Opie the destroyer would then jump in... Making bobo feel like shit that his heros hated him. Also ant got him hammered at least that one time, and then they made him play the "up and down game" in studio a bunch. Essentially here you're watching a man with an 8 year olds view of the world living out his dream. Then later on its as if that 8 year old had been molested and everything he once loved was ruined... except the Mets.
