Where are the Stevie Nicks' today? Talented songwriter and the coolest voice.
@SvetaChristine8 жыл бұрын
The reason for that is probably the time we live in today. Stevie Nicks embodies the 70s rock. Her image and stage persona were very natural, which was the beauty standard back then, I feel. I mean I didn't live in the 70s, but most of the pictures/footage I've seen of actresses, singers, models, etc. of that era showed the natural beauty of these women, and even at their most casual moments, they were beautiful and just like... Chill. Stevie's whole stage presence was always pure and honest emotion, and raw and unique because of that voice of hers. Singers, or entertainers these days aren't like her because they are just of a different era. They are doing what they think it will sell. Stevie's image sort of caught on very well in the 70s but there was nothing manufactured about it... Sorry this got so long, you just got me to thinking lol

As tiring it may be to have yet another interviewer bring up the drugs aspect - I can't help but think how it's often said a true artist must suffer for their art. I think it's even more incredible how someone can go to that dark place in their life, still produce some incredible music while dealing with the onslaught of drugs...and somehow emerge from the end of the tunnel intact. It just makes Stevie even more endearing and special, a true treasure. Through the decades I've never grown tired of listening to her smoky, melodic voice. She's lived a fascinating life and I'm thankful she's still with us today.

But that is her strength... that's the well from which she draws her incredible artistry. Her music wouldn't have had the depth and multi-layered meaning if she were a bubble gum personality. And.. There's being alone but not lonely or forsaken.. there's hurt.. but not incapacitated and crippled. She still creates. Even during her most recent tour and such, she has commented she enjoys being the solitude and such. You need that to rejuvenate and replenish. And Stevie is NOT the kind of person to be a wretched soul...she has friends and confidants and collaborators.

Class. When I was 11 back in 1975 the single Landslide hit and I fell in love with Fleetwood Mac. Well rumours in junior high was cool, lol. Talk about kicking their high healed platform boots through the glass ceiling of rock in roll with absolute class. Stevie Nick's and Christine McVie in 75 and 77 with charting song after charting song in one of the biggest rock n roll bands of the time. And Lindsay Buckingham is not a joke either. 3 singer song writers that change the sound of the band with song after song after song. Amazing band. Legend. I remember. I saw Fleetwood Mac twice and Stevie solo 3 times. Class. Great rock n roll. Of coarse I'm an old fart. Fleetwood Mac is a piece of how I lived through my hellish beginnings on this earth. Soul and class all the way. Stevie Nick's is like an adolescent angel of mine. Mick Fleetwood is not a stupid man.
