Dear Stevie, Sharing your story in such raw detail as you did, is nothing short of amazing. I know you didn’t do it for yourself, or for the show, but for those out there who may be experiencing a similar nightmare, and that makes you one hell of a person. The courage you have shown by allowing this to be known by the public is immeasurable, and even if it helps just one person, it has the potential to be life-changing. You are incredible mate, and should be super fucking proud of yourself for having gone through what you’ve gone through; and come out of the other end shining. You’re a beautiful person, mate. Proud to not only call you my co-host, but one of my best mates in the entire world. Love ya. - Jaack

This just hit me like a truck. I was sexually assaulted by my cousin when I was 8, he was 16/17 at the time. I started to realise what had happened and remember what had happened when I was 14 and I just broke at 15. The case went no where due to people lying to protect him. Lying about us spending time alone together, lying about me even visiting them every week. I lost my family, lost the last year of my grandma being alive as I just couldn't look at her never mind talk to her out of shame and guilt. Ended up failing my Car's due to not being able to school or study. Lost my friends. Worst of all is that he has 3 kids of his own and the eldest turned 6 this year. I can't sleep due to the idea of what he could do to them. Just needed to vent.

90% of abuse victims are female, and even most of them have trouble coming forward despite all this metoo stuff going around. So I can't imagine how much harder it is for the male victims to come forward, who then have to deal with the societal implications of their gender--homophobic connotations of being abused by a male (like people thinking you're queer if abused by a man), the feeling of potential emasculation if you admit to being a victim, the lack of recognition due to being a smaller percentage of victims, etc. Unfortunately often times the kids are victimized by people they trust, like family members, which makes it extra difficult to come forward.

You're incredible, Stevie. It really shows how difficult of a time that was for you, and you sharing your story took great strength. Although it's devastating that the case was thrown out, I hope that justice and healing have gone beyond the courtroom for you. Also, please don't think it's disgusting that you took the money. You were a child and you had no comprehension of the nature of what was really going on, he is the only disgusting one in this. You're so brave and telling your story has helped so many people, there's no doubt in my mind. I'm not a survivor of child sexual abuse, but I was sexually assaulted. Nothing came of it after reporting but when you talked about seeing him and feeling rage and sadness, I FELT exactly what you meant. There are other things you said that resonated with me, so I just wanted to share that you've actually really helped me in the way that you've reminded me I'm not alone with these feelings. You should be extremely proud of yourself.

@lewis upton @Kian Illsley thank you so much for such kind comments. I personally fought back making my experience less horrible than most but sadly he walked away from it with a lesser charge which sickens me to this day. I've had years to rebuild and grow and was lucky to have amazing people around me who never pushed but were there when I needed them but it remains a scar I hate to dwell on. I personally believe that by being open about it took some of the demons away, not all but some. I think it also helps others know its not only them. Its such a vile subject but it's better talked about rather than hidden under the table, I really loved this clip as Jack says what is not said enough, and that is its not your fault regardless of the situation its the monster doing it to you, I would never change the fact that I reported my assault even though the outcome wasnt as good as I had hoped as it gave me the power back knowing that there was concequences. If I could pass on anything its the importance of taking away stigma from victims, the only way I can do it is by sharing my story and underlining that it's never your fault and whilst you can't take it away fully over time it's possible to get stronger, to live a wonderful life and to trust people again. (ps good luck with the therapy, its hard work and at times you would rather kick it all in but hang in there,) ❤️

@@LindzTheLooneyOfLondon It truly does make you so strong no what happened to the horrid person who did this to you; it is truly only the weak that would ever stoop to prey on the vulnerable and it is truly disgusting. It worries me to think whether they know that what they're doing will impact on the victim for the rest of their life or whether they are simply acting on impulse. It does need to be talked about, and those that are brave enough to open up about this and start the conversation are so, so incredibly brave, especially when you know that the video will get a big audience and viewership, like Stevie knew when going into this particular story on Happy Hour. It's true, it never is the victim's fault, I mean, no person could bring such vile acts upon themselves, they simply do not deserve it! Thank you ever so much and I wish you the very best, also, this is when you realise that audiences of all kinds have such lovely people and communities behind them! xx
I really appreciate Stevie sharing his story, I'm a CSA survivor too and there's a lot of stigma around it with guys. I watched Pedroseph's video opening up not long ago and it just makes me feel more normal and less like some weak victim. I didn't get justice either, so going through all the trauma of the court system as a child was pointless anyway because the jury were undecided. I think our justice system in the UK is a joke tbh, and sex offences don't have a high enough sentence in my opinion. Three years for something that affects someone for the rest of their lives? Piss take, and that's if you even get justice, which many don't.

As someone who was SA'd as a child for 2y, it's difficult to reach out at any age and tell someone what's happening. Wow, this is so important to hear and really does mean a lot, so thank you Stevie. You hear about sexual abuse a lot in the media nowadays, but very little about childhood sexual abuse. I was 10 when my neighbour groomed and abused me, he was 16 at the time, and his parents convinced mine not to tell the police. It was the biggest mistake they ever made and I'm still working though it in therapy, because it's too late now to prove anything. They only moved away last month, 11 years later, so I can relate so much, and it means so much to see my story reflected. It comes out when I drink, too! @@tiff1277 I can imagine how tough that is and it takes a strong person to do what you're doing. I was 7 when it happened and all I wanted was my father, simply because I didn't understand what had happened. He took indecent pictures of me and my friends but I saw that as the game he described it was. Its hard to wish your father was the person you want him to be. He used prison as an excuse to get to know what I was doing to give him alibis later on in life after prison.
