Sorry I read a lot of nasty comments about this SRV & Double Trouble concert on July 17th, as part of that Montreaux Blues Night at that year, which also featured John Hammond who opened the night, the great Koko Taylor with the Chicago Blues Band , Sugar Blue, JB Hutto and Luther Johnson. These few idiots who booed, but were very few, it was certainly not the majority of the public, SRV wasn't very well known in Europe at the time, maybe they didn't like the show because they were thinking of something acoustic, unfortunately they did not understand that they were in front of a genius. But I well remember that at the end of the SRV show, most were stunned, they didn't believe what they had just seen ! This is the memory I have of that evening, yes because luckily for me I was right there, in the front rows of the right side of the stage. Memorable evening that will always remain in my heart!

Stevie Decia Que Nunca Lo Abuchearon Tanto Que En Realidad, Como Era Un Espacio Oreparado Para Tocar Jazz, Habia Bastante Resonancia, Y Por Eso, Cuando Unas 4 o 5 Personas Abuchean, Suena Como Si Fueran 400

I like how the "vevo" brand is on the outside of the video, only visible when in full screen. I don't whether I should hate or live them for owning so much of the good stuff

What's with the audience? What a bunch of stiffs!
@matrodmedia5 жыл бұрын
pncombies Read up on the story of this show at Montreaux back in ‘82. It was a jazz fest type thing and the closest thing the audience was expecting to bluesrock was slow blues/jazz. Back then, Stevie didn’t have nearly the same name recognition that he gained just a year later, so half the crowd was down with him and half were stuck up bitches about it. Stevie ended up doing a kind of “comeback” show at the same Montreaux festival just two or three years later (after he blew up), and needless to say, 100% of the crowd were cheering on their feet for him.

Pretty cool little piece of blues history trivia right there actually. I love that comeback story.

It was a concert for the deaf community by the look of it. The world became slightly less interesting the day he died. Rip.
