@@jakedavila4468 absolutely. jimi took the standard blues and made it more experimental but when it comes to proficiency and a wide array of style mixed with his insane knowledge of scales and improv stevie was miles ahead of jimi in skill. just look at billy strings now. hes bluegrass but i can hear a ton of srv licks in his improv. went to hs with a kid who thought he was srv. he was good but you can just pick out the phrasing and if its not perfect you can tell. yes i didnt feel like using capitol letters... sorry

Just that Hendrix wrote and performed the song in 1968..and was un-equalled. S.R.V. great copy. Even down to the hat. Not many people can copy what Hendrix innovated. Great rendition. The live version from the original Hendrix in the West. Is still THE version. The man who wrote it, sang it and played it originally. Is still unmatched.

He's not just playing the song, he became the song... his stamina and concentration yet also free as a bird while he demonstrates unique performance in a poetic way. All those notes played, yet not one out of place move. Can't help but think how it would be... alas his time to leave had come and left us this magnificent piece of art and together with all other masterpieces. Thank you for the music which is really food for our souls. Thank you SRV & Double Trouble, thank you Jimmy.

I love how Chris, the drummer and Tommy the bassist can't seem to take their eyes off of Stevie...like us they're mesmerized. I read a quote from Chris Layten once that said "I never got tired of watching Stevie"...and I never get tired of watching him either. I'm 53 and I think Stevie is right up there with Elvis. I'm stumped to think of others with the stage presence anywhere close to these two...who both were true masters.

So many years have passed....so much time. I still can't watch or listen without getting upset. When Stevie died, a piece of my soul left my body and it's never returned. I remember so clearly my little son coming in our bedroom saying he'd seen on TV that there'd been a helicopter crash and that Stevie was gone. I bawled my head off for about a week. It sucks when your heros are there one minute, and gone the next. My idea of heaven is getting to see and hear him once again. I hope he's waiting for me.
