being al older man now who was lucky enough to see SRV, you just couldn't clap or scream or anything when watching him play. you had to see and hear absolutely everything he was doing. it was like the audience collectively knew to hold onto applause and cheering until he was finished. I hope that we see someone like him come this way again but I doubt it. Thankyou for putting out these videos. it's a joy to watch and see new generations learn about his music.

Fun Trivia: Number One was originally owned by Christopher Cross ("Sailing", Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)", "Never Be the Same") of San Antonio, TX. Vaughan found it a bit beat up hanging in Heart of Texas music shop in Austin. Vaughan first received the Number One in 1973 as a gift from Ray Hennig, owner of the shop.

Nice catch on the Castles Made of Sand lick near the end. Also at 7:05-7:22 or so he does a little Power of Soul type riff and then A Minor Jam snatch from Woodstock. When SRV played live before he hit it big, he regularly played Hendrix live. I have one show from 81 or 82 in a Texas Bar where he does 4 or 5 Hendrix tunes. Jam 292, Come (On), Manic Depression were also songs SRV played in addition to Voodoo, Little Wing, 3rd Stone.

Nice licks man. KEEP IT UP. After your done with SRV (which should take a while) be sure to check out his hero's such as Buddy Guy (who was also one of Hendrix 's teachers according to Hendrix) along with the Chicago/Austin Texas entire 40-80's blues scene. Always remember blues is the foundation of every soul, jazz, and rock there is. Your reactions are great because you have the feel on those strings dude. You understand what it takes.

My friend you have frame of reference!., when you describe how stupid good this was,it reminds me of the complete "Ah Struck I was and still am that someone can make a guitar sound like this. Check out Roy Clark"La magiena"

It's to bad that the video cut as he was still playing, I gotta try and find the rest of it if it's out there.
