hi Ross! Great playing and teaching as always! I've noticed that in the El Mocambo performance of Lenny, at the start of the song especially thanks to the 60 circle hum of his single coils, you can hear some kind of modulation that he probably used, maybe the vibrato circuit from his Fender amps! I love the man, the song and his El Mocambo live set! Cheers!

Great vid and series. I really like how you explain your thought process and the core of the tone. So much more insightful than just googling what he used and copying etc. Rick beato did a vid on string guage and the lighter strings had better midrange. SRV used heavy strings cos he had a very heavy grip. his guitar tech said later in his career he was using lighter strings and at the start of a tour he would have lighter strings too but later in a tour as he rebuilt stamina would go to heavier gauges.

Hey, I hope it's not too boring to you, but can you do a few tutorials here and there (on occasion) for some famous solos? I realize you're not so much of a 'cover player' but your sound is incredible, you're very articulate and it'll be great to learn from you on occasion about some solos (Pink Floyd, GNR, Hendrix etc etc.. ) . I find that working on solos note-for-note is actually very helping more intermediate players such as myself to improve. Yes, improvisation and other original stuff also helps, but also these note-for-note cover helps a lot with the guitar technical mastering. Any chance this can interest you Ross ?

Hi @Ross - thx for your video's, I really enjoy them. They have the right pace and content for where I'm at guitar right now. I was - following your tone - convinced to buy the Cory Wong plug-in from Neural DSP. However, I found out that the plug-in doesn't work with Garageband. And I definitely want to record my progress - so I was looking for that integration. Do you know a work-around with Garageband, or another look-a-like DAW for Mac without busting the bank and buy Logic or Ableton, that kind of stuff? Any tips? Or any tips from DSP on this behalf? Thx in advance ...
@RossCampbellGuitarist2 жыл бұрын
Hmm I'm not sure. I guess that's just a limitation of GarageBand that you can't use 3rd party plugins. I would say it's worth saving a little longer and forking out the cash for a good DAW like Logic or Ableton etc. You'll pay once and use it forever without limitations on what you can do with it. Perhaps there are free DAWs out there that allow for 3rd party plugin integration but I don't know of any myself.
