the whole thing....but that moment when he does the whammy dive and engages the wah and that bit of sweat drips off his forhead and he squeezes out that note at 3:03...UNGH....that's the blues.

A masterclass! I can't even put into words the impact the "El Mocambo" show had on me growing up.....still floors me watching him play....Stevie didn't just play it, he felt it.....every note! Legend.
@timmyjbone14 жыл бұрын
This is just what you call out of your mind playing. Totally in the zone or flow state. Stevie played in that state everytime he played. That was his gift. He played beyond mind.
@tomburnes352611 жыл бұрын
Hendrix may be the master, but Stevie is his the one who broke the mould. Noone if ever heard can compare with the ease Stevie played. He had the whole package. He was fast, he was slow and rhythmic and he played from his soul.

From God's mind to STV's fingers.....never a router poised between......The greatest concert i have ever witnessed....no light shows, no video screens in the back-grounds, no dancers...just a guy and his guitar.......he blew everyone there away!

the .13 gauge strings, the high action, the bass frets....he truly had monster tone! srv's sound is unmatched. he also had speed, unbelievable rythm, and a very soft and subtle touch. i've never seen anyone man handle a guitar the way he did. i mean he realy owned it. he was playing the guitar, not the guitar playing him. aside from all of that, what stage presence. stevie you are missed and forever immortalized in this world.

Play the guitar until your fingers bleed, everyday, for the next 25 years, and you too will be this skilled. God has put the same potential in all of us, it's just disciplining yourself to follow through until you reach it. Stevie Ray stuck with it until he soared with the eagles. You can too. Maybe your skill is not guitar, maybe it's writing, painting, ect. Whatever it is, stick with it, and you too will be a "master."
@seanmaguire656510 жыл бұрын
How anyone can play something this beautiful will forever be a mystery to me. It's hard to one up Hendrix (who I love dearly) but I think in this one chase it's been done. he's playing fast but not for the sake of playing as many notes in the shortest time possible and he slows is down exactly when it needs to be slowed down. At like the 3:40 mark too when his guitar fades out and then back in is incredible and it's such a little detail but thats what made Stevie so special. Everything he played was coming from the soul and all the little details were just as important as the big ones.

Couldn't have put it better myself dude, not sure everyone can reach the same level of mastery as this, a level where art speaks so wholly to your soul that it makes you weep physically and emotionally. This track, this song, this performance got me through some of the toughest times in my life and will do in the future. Stevie soared with the eagles in life, and even though I don't believe in God, if there is an afterlife I hope if I die I somehow get to soar with him in death.
