I was living in Austin in that era and was really into SRV. I think I first heard this recording from a download and it wasn’t until years later that I saw the video. Now I revisit it every so often and every time I’m right back in my Austin apartment 20 years ago finding treasures (and viruses lol) on the web.

After listening to Stevie for nearly 30 years of my life I am still blown away by his gift for improvisation. Every aspect of his playing is top notch but his phrasing draws a limitless amount of variations from such a simple scale. He didn't run around like a speed king to show off, it always SOUNDED good and he knew exactly where he was at every moment. The man played guitar with his soul.

Too many emotions runs out listing to this. At one end there is this immense respect in Stevie for his hero, and similarly the tower of pride in Albert's heart to see the younger one approaching in right direction and heading to even greater achievement and on the other hand the song itself; "I dreamed I had you all by myself, But now I know you found you another man". Beautiful and Pure.

I still love telling the story how I walked into Rasputin's Music in Berkley , Ca and I was trying to find a rare Stevie Ray CD for my brother. I couldn't locate him in Blues so I asked one of the blue dyed hair punks that work there if they had any SRS. He told me "yea, in the Rock section"....I told him Stevie Ray Vaughn is Blues....the kid looked at me funny and said "no he's rock"...I wanted to break his face but I remembered he's just a 3 chord aficionado what does he know about music

I Also Think That Stevie Was Saying. Albeit, They Are Different Ages (Albert 1923-1992) (Stevie 1954-1990) And Both Found Fame In Different Era's. I Think Albert Was Also Talking About The Fact That. (How) They Both Expeirenced Similier Expeirences While Trying To Make It As Musicians From The First Time They Both Started Playing At A Young Age And Continuing Onto Their Similier Journey's Trying To Make It As A Musician And Make A Living Out Of It. I Think Stevie Was Saying He KNOWS About That.

Notice what is Really Cool --- > When Albert is giving his talk to Stevie during the INTRO to the song, Albert speaks in THE SAME RHYTHM and FEEL as the music is playing which is backing him up. So Think about that for moment. Imagine if everyday people just spoke, and paused at just the right moments as if MUSIC was going on their heads . That's what's going on in Albert's head.

Wow, I was thinking the same thing, Most definately !! The Organ fills out the song , giving it a "full" sound, with no empty space, the organ player is "comping" to keep the chords playing along with the bass player. Because Stevie and Albert are only playing SINGLE notes, and not any chords. So the ORGAN is needed to ensure the CHORDS are being played.

yea its alot of his pictures playing rock and acoustic from birth at Michael Jackson playing guitar images.com plus he also played the rock and bass guitar drums keyboard and synthesizor beats for scream also. his sister told him 2 do it. he recently gave it up for auction at a charity I have the video. It maybe the most expensive guitar ever A ROCK FLYING-V GIBSON and not EPILOPHONE. :) I will leave the vid on your channel for you. to me its badder than the Purple rain guitar. and cloud
