"Texas Flood (Live at the El Mocambo)" by Stevie Ray Vaughan
Stevie Ray Vaughan was a legendary blues guitarist and singer from Texas, known for his soulful playing and powerful vocals. He rose to fame in the 1980s with hits like "Pride and Joy", "Texas Flood", and "The Sky is Crying", which showcased his incredible guitar skills and deep love for the blues. Vaughan collaborated with many other artists throughout his career, including David Bowie (on the song "Let's Dance"), blues icon B.B. King (on the album "In Session") and his brother Jimmie Vaughan (on their “family Style” album). He was also heavily influenced by other blues legends like Albert King, Freddie King, and Jimi Hendrix, whose playing styles he incorporated into his own unique sound.

Even after watching this more than 100 times, it still remains to be one of the most enjoyable 10 minutes uploaded to youtube, and one of the most incredible guitar performances ever recorded... what a legend

You would think after an intro that intense, he wouldn't have much left and nowhere to go for the rest of the song--and then he does this nuclear bomb performance that just comes out like he had it hiding behind his back all along. He is the greatest of all time for me.

I literally remember the exact moment I first heard SRV and it was a guy watching this VHS tape in a dorm room down the hall from mine, when I walked by three guys were standing in him room jaws on the floor while this song was coming out and I walked in and before I could even vocalize “who the vukk is this?!” I realized I was watching a legend being made. This was October 1993. Haven’t been the same person since. RIP SRV.

I'm a Florida boy, but Jesus I hope Texas has a State holiday for it's favorite son on the guitar. If it was up to me, I would.

In 1991, TX governor Ann Richards declared October 3 (which would have been SRV's 37th birthday) Stevie Ray Vaughan Commemoration Day. Ann Richards wrote an article that appears in the booklet for the SRV box set. She also once said that saying, "God bless Texas" and, "God bless ZZ Top" is saying the same thing twice, so she knew a thing or two about this stuff.

There is a statue of Stevie on Lady Bird Lake in Austin, about a week ago Antifa scumbags spray painted and defaced it. If they get caught their time in the pen is gonna be hard time, and I mean it just like you think. Stevie was one of Texas's most incredible son's.

It reminds me of the beginning of the second part of the chord progression of little wing, has a similar chromatic part and feel although played very differently (key and style)

yeah I was wondering where this version went, easily the best version of Texas Flood, this was flawless, Stevie Ray Vaughan was an extremely gifted guitarist. I heard someone describe Stevie's way of playing as standing at the bottom of a mountain and walking straight up to the top. I have heard people play with this intensity but he could do it for such a long period that it was incredible.
