I still believe that SvR '06 is an underappreciated masterpiece I've said before that it's the closest game they ever released that's even remotely close to a Fire Pro level game
@impulse_xs
@impulse_xs Ай бұрын
@@us3l3ssknowl3dg3 I’ll go to my grave maintaining that SvR 06 is legitimately the best licensed WWE game ever released. It may possibly be the GOAT wrestling game period. It’s also aged the best of any wrestling game and still holds up as time goes on. It was the perfect blend of arcade and simulation style gameplay. There’s maybe 2-3 games in my life I’ve spent more hours playing than SvR 06.
@The_Juggla
@The_Juggla Ай бұрын
I'm half way with you guys, but why not 07? The roster in both games is objectively terrible, the story lines in season mode are of equal quality, 07 allows you to switch to the classic control scheme, and the creation suite is better.
@impulse_xs
@impulse_xs Ай бұрын
@@The_Juggla for me, its a few things but my main one is this. The gameplay of 06 is a better balance of arcade and simulation style gameplay. 07 turned so many moves and situations into a variety of weird quick time events or mini games. Anytime you wanted to climb a ladder, put an opponent in a sleeper, or just do anything outside of simple strikes and some grapple turned into a quick time event that required fiddling with the analog stick, mashing buttons to fill a meter, or some other mini game. These events/interactions happened frequently enough that it slowed the pace of the game even in a normal match. It made the game less intuitive as well. Meanwhile 06 has 90% of the interactivity and location specific moves of 07 and makes them way more intuitive to execute and to reverse without the breaks in action. There’s way less of these annoying mechanics outside of special match types and the few that are in a normal match(like doing/escaping a submission) are very straightforward and quick. This makes 06 faster paced and more smooth feeling while still maintaining the depth of gameplay. Even switching 07 to the old control scheme doesn’t make the gameplay the same.

@StevieRichardsShow as a No Mercy enthusiast myself, I believe there's something you NEED TO know. The "Championship" (season mode) story line for the WWF title was already written when they put you (Steven Richards) into the game. The thing is, because Big Show got released during development, they had to remove him from the game. You ended up taking his place on the roster (in the game's digital memory). THEREFORE, you were Big Show's drop-in replacement in ALL story lines involving him. I'm talking the "Rock's feet hit first" Royal Rumble storyline, even the main event of Wrestlemania 2000. I play the old games all the time and I absolutely love them . I used to fall asleep playing wwe2k games because of how boring and dead it feels.

No Mercy is great. Weak grapple - STO was really good. Here Comes The Pain is great, the specific damage spot icon was great. Smackdown vs. Raw was quite good too.

Smackdown shut your mouth and here comes the pain were the two best IMO. The long in-depth career modes on those games were what did it for me.

Surprised of 2 things: 1. No mention your appearance in SmackDown 2 2. No mention of being the replacement for Big Show in No Mercy story mode.

One thing i actually enjoyed in the 2k games was the limited reversals she the stamina requirements for signature and finishers. It added a level of strategy. I can understand why some people didn't like it and they could've turned it off by default but left it in as an option to toggle on and off
