Stevie is a God to me. As a kid in 60’s south London,Stevie Wonder hit me like a hammer with Uptight. Got everything by him,but his 60’s and 70’s work is utter genius.

The positive "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing" aptly follows the melancholic ballad "All in Love is Fair". It is this permanent contrast that gives all its specificity and salt to Innervisions.

One of my favorite Stevie songs. Life is good. Just got a great new job, watching Justin react to this song, sipping my Ninja Freeze from Dutch Bros. Coffee (slushy coffee drink with white chocolate and creme de menthe). Yay

Wikipedia entry says it reached 16 on the Pop chart. Unlike 'Higher Ground' and 'Living For The City' I don't recall ever hearing it on the radio in Baltimore back then. Fantastic record of course.

I know the term is overused, but Stevie is the definition of a "musical genius". Even if he had the gift of sight, he would be in his own league. The fact that the man is blind and makes exceptional music proves what a talent he is. Another song from my childhood, by the way. My sister had the 8-track! LOL.

Love the way he lightens the mood on this track; I mean, the idea that Stevie Wonder would have to invent all this stuff to impress this woman; he doesn't take himself too seriously. Meshing right into the great closing song.

See?! Compare this to "Don't Worry, Be Happy." Apples and oranges, yes... but I'm gonna suggest this is the big difference between the 70s and 80s. Listen to the sweet groove here. harmonies. Bass. 80s took that all away and we got generic, blah. Vanilla ice cream. Stevie brings the Mudslide. Am I being unfair? 😆

@@ComeOnIsSuchAJoy I just watched his reaction again and Justin didn't seem moved by this ballad, which arguably works better taken in the context of the album rather than in isolation. Maybe when he has listened to the album in one go, this piece will appeal to him much more this time around.
