You are a golden lady to me, not mine but in your eyes and your smile when you look straight at us through the camera. What a great command you have of the bass lines also.

Fantastic job - at least as good as Stevie's version (and he had the benefit of a keyboard: on the original recording he used a Moog bass). Your outro was especially cool.

Quel joli choix de 4:25 notes de basse, quel travail évidemment, quel talent. Quand on pense en plus que Stevie n'avait que 23 ans ouch !

My friends and I in the mid 70’s used to go a little club called The Goose and the Gander every Wednesday night in Greenbrook, NJ to see a band called Foots. And they would play this song. Didn’t know how great a bass line it had till I saw them. Thanks for bringing it back! BTW that band played a little Steely Dan and Weather Report. How bout a little Jaco hey?

One of the dopest and most underrated basslines/Stevie songs! Great job!

Stevie Wonder sat down at the drums to lay down the beat for either this song or superstition and somebody said, you’re holding the sticks wrong. Stevie showed them how he wanted the beat and it didn’t matter how he was holding the sticks. This is one of those beats that is seriously Stevie Wonder’s uniqueness. Another great job on bass Alice. Thanks for the video.

According to someone who knows, Stevie started most of his tracks by laying down the drums first.

@@stannote8312 I think the interview I saw was Jeff Porcaro. Famous for his Rosanna drum beat. But, don’t quote me on it.

I was Having Trouble with this bass line and was having much difficulty breaking it down. I have to say that you played it with so much ease and soul that I forgot that I was watching this video to learn. My bandmates were quite surprised when I pulled this one off. Needless to say I added you to my favorites and subscribed to your channel. Keep on Keeping on!

Quite difficult chord progression, Stevie would have been giving the guitarists a bit of trouble with that.....just incessantly changed key.
