I remember his music was some of the very first music i ever listen to my dad had the definitive collection cd and i was like what the fuck when i found out he was blind years later because i was impressed that he was able to write sing played all different kinds of instruments while not being able to see

Eh??? What a 'Stupid' question to ask a blind person ... 'What images come to mind' .... Duh! that assumes the person has a reference of what 'Images' are ... I have always wondered what people born blind actually 'Dream' about (sleep dreams)

I can see why you think that, and its indeed a brave question. I don't know if most people with vision even have a reference to what images come to mind when they first heard instruments. But Stevie did have a response, and his responses had to do with sounds and feelings.

Because you can 'visualize' with your hearing/touch/feeling/MIND...I'm legally blind...so I know that.
