Never thought I’d see the day SK would break down bars from a Christian Hip Hop artist. Yes, Andy will never get mainstream views because of the genre he’s in. He’s OK with that though. His message is more important than that. 116 clique that includes Lecrae is going through it right now but still putting out good music. Andy’s transparent in his struggles with his faith and that makes him real to me. Appreciate whoever suggested Stevie do this one. Other CHH artists that need to be shown love are Bizzle, Derek Minor, KB, and of course Lecrae. Keep growing Stevie.

The daily bread in this song is the word of God. So instead of eating literal bread he is feasting on the Word while he is fasting for the Lord. He's talking about the version of Jesus he grew up believing.

I heard it differently. The Daily Bread, or time in the word, is per diem (aka every day). Meanwhile, he's fasting *from* that daily bread, aka NOT spending time in the word -- and doing so continuously. Fast like BM = days fly by not realizing he hasn't spent any time with God in months. That's just my interpretation.

Another entendre in the bar (that I at least think was intentional) is that he's fasting from the daily bread (like you said) and that it's like a BM = Bowel Movement. In other words, his lack of time in the word also leads to him excreting out what he needs. And then of course, the whole slew of bars in context refers to the life of a musician on the road "working working working working". So the lines paint the picture of an artist on tour receiving a per diem (which is common for artists brought out of their state for a show) and then literally driving by in a car that isn't there's in that place. There's a lot of levels in this verse man smh

Andy is in my top three, he's part of my daily routine. Clarity is and always will remain my favorite song of his. He's so raw and honest. I'm really digging one of his newer songs right now, Vendetta. It speaks so many truths of the world we currently live in. God's got His hands on this man.
