He has it backward. Art is influenced by people not other way around. Art is a reflection of ourselves and art movements serve as a snapshot of the culture and politics of society at a given time. This is doubly true for popular art forms. If it didn't reflect the people in some way then it wouldn't sell or be relatable to a sizeable portion of the population.
@JonnyQuest6422 күн бұрын
@@MrIndiemusic101yet this music doesn't coincide with your "theory"... so how does what do what pimping? Music 1000% influences society and not the other way around. People weren't wearing air force ones or worrying about their specific scent until Nelly and Outkast. Small percentages were but until Air force one, and Fresh and Clean dropped the majority most definitely were not. Signed a cat around stanking ass fools and people wearing And 1s etc...

Music is art, the artist expresses what they feel at the moment they are writing their song. Maybe one of them was going through that experience or someone close to them. Its a real topic, it's a everyday issue that many people are going through and they can relate to this song. That doesn't mean that it is toxic. Bruno has made many songs about love. Even has a anthem made for wedding proposals "Marry You" is a song that is used around the world for proposals that you can watch over and over on KZbin. A whole album cannot be about just love. That's like giving chicken to only people that like chicken and since that's the only thing you serve the rest don't eat. Anderson Paak as well wrote songs about different topics. This gives the different listeners a wide arrange of songs that like any album, you like some and some you don't. Also, why say it in a negative way when you are only reacting to 1 song off the album.

Listen to the album. This is just one song, and heartbreak is just as prevalent as finding love. Artists have been singing about heartbreak forever. And you’re acting as though Silk Sonic had some opportunity that they didn’t take advantage of. Did you already forget about Leave The Door Open?
