I have been air-drumming to that song since I was a teenager ... There are about 4 sections I needed to actually sit down and figure out .... Honestly, a couple of weeks to get it tight .. I have an app called moises and would play along to the entire thing at a slower tempo, and then I just sped it up

I've heard the decline a thousand times, but even here I can hear Stevo's distinctive style. It's hard to describe properly, but it feels consistently ahead of its time while maintaining consistency. I caught Nofx playing a secret show at Reading festival a few years back. They played a small stage a few hours after their main stage set. Then they played the decline. They they bought out Frank Turner to perform it with them! That right there was the trifecta of awesome!

What's crazy is The Decline is only Mike and Smelly. Mike wrote the whole thing, and played the bass and guitar parts on the recording. Smelly did the drums and helped with the arrangement. Melvin and Hefe didnt record any of the parts other than maybe Hefe on the trumpet.
