Executive producer Armando Iannucci interrogates Stewart Lee about his BBC2 series in a Frost/Nixon style face off. This week Armando and Stewart discuss the global financial crisis, the lengths actors and presenters will go to in order to subsidise public service work, and who has more talent, Armando or David Attenborough.

Since this interview aired, Stewart Lee _did_ manage to find footage of his own colonoscopic investigations, which he, at the request of the BBC, cut together into a BAFTA award-winning, 5 1/2 hour long, comedy/drama/horror/sci-fi/action/crime/western/thriller/romance/noir pilot programme for a proposed TV series called _"Up Yer Chuff!",_ with an option for further 274.83 episodes. Critically acclaimed for its twisting and turning plot, along with its dark and claustrophobic atmosphere, many scenes were edited to include in a new, ground-breaking sepia-looking "brown & white" for the full, intensive, authentic effect. Mr Lee received no remunerations from the BBC for his production; in fact, after he sold his house, car, a portion of his liver and his remaining worldly possessions to self-finance his marvellous grand opus, he gave what remained of his budget, 7 pence, to the BBC, just as he promised.

I didn't know any if this, I hope he documents this story in his next book, sounds very interesting, I wouldn't watch the documentary though, the reasons are deeply personal so you needn't inquire. If I had a colonoscopy I would donate the tape to my library, like Miles Jupp did when he was younger, funnily enough he didn't even need a colonoscopy, he paid for one, for fun, such dedication to humour.
