Good to see your girl loading calipers ....its the fun part of the build for sure ...all these new parts!!! Hey ?can you come over and snap your fingers .... In my garage???! I can use it about now...new parts mixed with old parts mixed with panels and trim....lions and tigers and bears ..oh my...its like a Z jungle in here x2 remember Im building two Z cars at once .... That maybe 2 finger snaps? Brakes are kick ass! My motors are mild tuned twin carb L28 , so Im running stock fronts with hawk pads and disc maxima rear cheaper than rebuilding the old drums brakes. And the discs self adjusting is worth it. Looking awesome glad your back to posting regularly again ....life just has away of getting in the way. Im really run out of space to be productive.Im really at the getting a bigger space stage ...till I find that, Im doing with what I have . Good progress , looking forward to whats next. PS Im putting all my lines in before motor and gear box. Space the final frontier!

Great job 👌 It would be worth you smearing some seam sealer on the back of that black plate you fabricated bolting to your firewall otherwise you could eventually end up with rust between the 2 👍

Can you explain how to balance the system. Will you add a bias adjuster. I dont think I've seen 4 pot calipers front and rear before. Are the front and rear rotors the same size? Thanks for the video. Well explained
@StewartMotoring3 жыл бұрын
I added a Wilwood adjustable proportioning valve. It allows you to adjust front and rear bias. Not super expensive either. Calipers are not the same size front and back, fronts are much bigger. I can’t remember exact sizes though.

did you have to modify your pedal with the booster delete? how hard is it to drive?
@StewartMotoring4 жыл бұрын
No pedal modifications. Can’t remember if I changed up the linkage but it was easy. Car stops really well. I changed out the mc for a bigger one as the original one I used was too small sized. It’s 13/16 now and does well. Not a stiff pedal at all but I can still lock them up if I need to. I think the first one was 3/4

@@StewartMotoring ah ok. Is it pretty hard to brake without the booster?
@StewartMotoring5 жыл бұрын
daishi9000 I’m still getting a feel for it and need to fine tune the bias adjuster but it actually feels really good. I however can’t lock up the wheels when slamming the brake. But she does stop good. Need to play with the bias and maybe I can. Hydro locks up the rears very very quick tho haha

M M I bought an Original ‘72 240z sitting on an Indian res for $5K about a year ago. Other than a cracked dash (they always are) and perished rubber everywhere (ditto) it was complete. It was an abandoned project. He threw in 4x Konig rewind wheels with tires. Nice. Some assembly required, but it was a CA car so metal was still in nice shape for a 40yr old car. The deals are out there!

@nicksheen4 жыл бұрын
@@demetrius8594 For S12W calipers you use 300ZX rotors. Not sure what the S12 calipers (Silvermine Stage 3 brake kit) takes. I built my "kit" online from Auto Zone lol. Sourced my "spacers" from the local hardware store. Brake pads from Porterfield. That said, $500 for someone who doesn't want to do the research isn't terrible. I just wonder what people's faces look like when they're told how to order new pads and rotors in the future.

I needed the plate to cover the existing holes in the firewall for the booster.I think it would look worse to have open holes. My opinion
@alienpoker5 жыл бұрын
Stewart Motoring But it looked like the new plate covered the holes for the booster. Perhaps I am mistaken. Why not just used more bolts like the ones on the booster delete? Imho better than that black plate.
