Thank you for the good video and you for taking the time to make them keep them coming is it better to do your first coat off fill with eco bond vrs just going straight to the eco fill or why do that I’m fixing to do a rans 7 quick build and I want to do it the best I can

We have found that it's best to seal the weave with one coat of Ekobond. That protects the backside of the EkoFill from the environment. It makes little difference in most environments, but we were seeing a few issues in extreme damp environments. We also found quite a few issues where folks were not keeping the fabric damp when applying EkoFill and were not getting proper penetration. This solves that issue as well. The Ekobond method also saves time.

Now tell us about the $ 15 K paint job, while I fly away with Oratex

Oratex is unique system. The cost of materials is nearly three times the cost of ours, so any labor savings is quickly offset by that. The claim of labor savings is generally overstated. I am seeing in the field for people that have done multiple airplanes in both systems that the you can have our system on and ready for the spray booth in the same or less time than Oratex. So really, the only labor savings is the time in the paint booth. If you are painting a single color which would be the comparison to Oratex, the time in the paint booth is minimal. Any striping or design beyond a single color is going to take the same labor in either system. The difference is the final appearance. There is no comparison in that category. So it just depends on the look you want. There are many advantages to a painted system. You don't see structure through a painted system like you often do with Oratex. The deep gloss finish, ease of cleaning and resistance to stains is a big asset.
