I love the AUG platform and all its idiosyncrasies. It’s such a cool platform. I agree it has far more potential than Steyr really seems to want to realize which is a shame. :/ Also, on the American import guns, the Ratworx sear is an awesome little upgrade.

I visited my grandpa 2 days before the ratworx sear got delivered to his house, shot the gun, had many complaints but it was cool, & then we installed the ratworx upgrades... shit was night & day. 100% recommend. If you dont have to pay stupid money to get it shipped to you, I would 10000% recommend.

I 100% agree. The AUG was way ahead of it’s time and has crazy potential, if only steyr pushed it. I’ve had just about every model and but the lack of any development caused me to move on. The ratworx trigger is an absolute must. And while the OG donut optic is outdated, it’s the optic to have lol

If you're able to get them where you are, ARID Development makes great aluminum triggers that also have an awesome tech that essentially pretensions and gets rid of that post and pre-travel for the AUG trigger. You combine that with the Ratworx 20/20 sear and you have an insanely good trigger.

Those are not Uzi mags, they are proprietary steyr mags, which are freakishly expensive. One 25 round mag for a 9x19 Steyr AUG-Z (the civilian version) costs about 150€.

That is an old A1 receiver. Since then there have been numerous changes there was the special receiver, the A2, A3, and A3 M1. There are also several aftermarket upgrades.

Somehow in our country the austeyr or ef88 as it's known here in Australia it's modified and built differently which makes it way harder to maintain and disassemble . Still a great service weapon .

Actually all augs regardless of NATO or waffle magazine have a last shot bolt hold open. You're confusing bolt hold open with bolt release. Furthermore the NATO ones do have a external bolt release it's called the charging handle.

The F88 is nearly identical, not sure if the limit/lock for the full auto function did anything to change how the trigger feels. The EF88/F90 would be more interesting. Unfortunately, the company is run by cucks.

It does not require a lot a force to go into full auto. It does require a fast pull instead of a slow squeeze. Visualize it as trying to jump over semi auto instead of trying to pull through it.

Love it. So much better than a selector switch. Who would have time in close combat when you need need need full auto fast, to move the fun switch??? The two stage trigger is genius. Long as it’s not prone to malfunction. That could be bad. But it’s a gun feature for big boys in bad places.

@@PolenarTactical FWIW, I've fallen in love with mine (the "Hellion" as it's sold stateside). The trigger feels better than a Tavor/X95, and from everything I've heard about the AUG it's night and day different. Ian definitely sold the idea with his videos, but my military experience was with M4s, M249s and no bullpups, and this is the first bullpup I've ever thought was worth getting. It balances well at the grip, too, not rear end heavy like the Tavor/X95. Hope you can get your hands on one for a real test!

A dedicated 9mm semiautomatic AUG that takes Glock magazines would definitely sell. Some company capable of building 9mm AUG s from parts kits needs to pounce on all those surplus aug kits for cheap and make a bunch of these in dedicated 9mm and themselves a pile of money doing it

I am right handed, but i like to hold the trigger with my left hand. It fell like I do better recoil control and faster access to my pistol with my dominant hand. Try to shoot the Steyr AUG with you left, it will be fun.

The french Thales F90, is a modernized version of the Steyr AUG, and it's in active service in Australian Army. It's actually the best AUG version ever. :)

The A1 part implies it’s the first rendition of the weapon and the Para would mean it’s a paratrooper version which would be shorter and or lighter. Probably just means the short barrel version in this gun.

Some countries over there seem to allow importing from places like Germany fairly easily, so there are special orders and whatnot.
