4:08 aastha = aa (upsarga, pure dhang se) + stha (dhaatu, gati se nivriti) - jis par aap tikke/datte hue ho 7:22 vishwaas = vi (upsarga, nishchay) + shwaas (dhaatu, saas lena) - jispar aashrit hokar aap chain ki saas lete hain (nishchint) 11:23 shraddha = shrad (upsarga, satya as per nighantu) + dha (dhaatu, dhaaran karna) - satya ko dhaaran karna (kissi to sachcha maannana) Thank You Nityanand Ji for this insightful research! 🙏 Adding to above, 'satya', as i heard from Swami Sarvapriyanand, refers to that 'tattva' which actually exists and that too forever.

I have not been successful in finding any information about this in any scriptures that I know of.🙏

Today I have come down to Mangalore for our annual Nema-Kola event. Saw a lot of burkhas around. On inquiring the cab driver said 30-40% of the population is Muslim. That was highly disturbing. What can ordinary citizens like us do to support and propagate Hindutva and ensure that we leave a better Bharat for our future generations?

More simple and precise explanation.... Aastha is belief, Vishwas is faith and shraddha is Reverence. I know you may don't like it but Osho and Sadhguru have said it in many of thier speeches. In belief, we don't know but we assume it to be true. It is possible that, it is true but we don't know. Like, people believe that there is no god, some say there is god, either of them don't know that whether God exists or not. That is belief. Adishankara did parkayapravesh, we don't know what it is how it is done...etc. Or, There is something known as nirvikalpa samadhi. Many yogis have attained it. So, we say that, It is a real thing, people do attain that, but we don't know. We merely believe it. Now, since, Buddha, adishankracharya ..etc has written about it, and we have reverence for them, we accept in a faith that, whatever they are saying which are internal or experiential things, must be true. Still, we don't know, but we accept it. But due to reverence, we have faith. In that order, Reverence > Faith> Astha. Astha has merely a thought and a strong opinion. Faith arises out of identity and when it gets dissolved yet faith is present, it is reverence.
@000Aful Жыл бұрын
You are partially correct in what you said, but a longer explanation is necessary because firstly knowing the sanskrit roots of any sanskrit word is very important, otherwise as Nityanand ji said at the beginning of the video, one word will always remain dependent on the second, second on the third, third on the fourth, and so on. Secondly, not all words of one language can have a direct parallel in another language. Slight differences in the sense remain which can only be grasped by going deeper.
@mavericksmart Жыл бұрын
@@000Aful I don't get it, how come partially true?I explained them independentally. indeed true what you saying, but see, there is one thing which will remain unchanged. What we are or have. Belief, faith or reverence. Meera Bai didn't had faith or reverence that Krishna exists, it was living reality for her. Same for ramakrishna Paramhamsa. For him Maa Kali was living reality. He didn't believed or had faith per say. Because they were devotees. They dissolved themselves into their object of devotion. This is why the Path of devotion has become corrupted in India.
@000Aful Жыл бұрын
@@mavericksmart by partially true, I meant to say that all else what you said is true, other than your initial premise that giving an english word for every sanskrit word is somehow a more simple or precise explanation. The reason for this I gave in the previous comment. Also, I think aastha should be faith and vishwas is belief, and not the other way around, because vishwas, just like belief, can be of anything, good or bad, but aastha is used generally in a positive and spiritual sense, just like faith. Other than that, I agree with the rest of your comment.
@mavericksmart Жыл бұрын
@@000Aful yes, point accepted. But my context was with respect to people like us. For us faith and belief are same, in a sense, If I am a buddhist. I have a belief that buddha was enlightened and, hence, faith in his teaching and this is why I have reverence for him. But I will only know that buddha was buddha, if I will taste what he is saying in experience, till then all will be mere words. And this should not be limited to academic discussion of mere words, knowing or seeking is important. See, even Shri Nityananda Misra ji can't say on patanjali yoga sutra in it's essence, he may interpret out of knowing the language but not what it is, because it is an experiential thing. This is why guru in it's purest form was used or should be used for enlighten masters or those who do sadhana, not for scholars or pandits or shastris..etc. because, scholars works on mind, essentially memory and with some faith or belief not on realization. Though in ancient time, many scholars were realised people like Adishankara, ramanuja...etc.

Sir, Andhvishwas aur shraddha ka antar bata sakte hai? sakaratmak bolchal mein logo ko apne bhagvan pe shraddha hai.. nakaratmak bol chal mein logon ko apne bhagvan pe andh vishwas hai ... lekin in dono vicharon mein kya antar hai ?
@bingming Жыл бұрын
Unlike andhaviśvāsa, śraddhā doesn't necessarily preclude viveka and parīkṣaṇa. So, you can have śraddhā even without giving up criticism, examination and reflection. And actually only through manana, deep analysis and critical examination, is firm conviction born. That firm and unshakeable conviction is śraddhā which is not at all like andhaviśvāsa (blind faith) that topples upon challenging it. The above was a more specialized look at śraddhā. As for śraddhā towards Īśvara/Bhagavān, it is not andhaviśvāsa. Why? This is because it is not an *idea* which some few unreliable, ignorant people came up with. It is yathārtha, and revealed by the āptas and mantradr̥ṣṭās (r̥ṣis) themselves. In fact, avatāras such as Kr̥ṣṇa and Rāma have shown that via their līlā. There is no saṁśaya in that, nor is it based on apramā. So, śraddhā towards Īśvara is not blind faith, it can be shown valid on the basis of pramāṇas, particularly via śruti and smr̥tis.

Soch samajh kar aur parakh kar kisi tathya ko poorn satya maanna shraddha hai. Bina soche samjhe kisi par vishwas kar lena andhvishwaas hai.
@somnathbose7455 Жыл бұрын
@@bingming I understood your point about shraddha needing viveka which is never the case in andhvishwas and it makes sense.as far as examining and going for deep analysis is only possible for a pure soul which is not the case of majority of devotees. So can we say that shraddha can only be attained by those who have contemplated and came to the conclusion of deep analysis? Because for a normal person who hasn't developed that ability and relies on the conclusions of the siddhas and rishis should be treated as andhvishwas unless he has applied his viveka is it not?

@@000Aful sochna aur samjhna Tak theek hai ...lekin parakhna toh har kisi ke bas mein nahi hai na?kitne hi logon ne ishwar ka saakshat anubhooti kiye hai? Uske liye kathor tapasya karna ha
@bingming Жыл бұрын
@@somnathbose7455 Honestly, bhakti needs no deep critical analysis and examination. So, it's not good and any use to criticize the devotees who have firm belief and devotion for Īśvara/Bhagavān. Nārada Bhakti Sūtra 2-3, defines bhakti as parapremarūpā (of the form of highest love) and amṛtasvarūpā (of the nature of immoral bliss). Śāṇḍilya Bhakti Sūtra 2-3 defines bhakti as parānuraktirīśvare (supreme attachment to Īśvara). It is foolishness to *judge* the bhakti of a true bhakta. You can't call those ones as blind believers because their object of bhakti is Īśvara itself. If their object of faith is some *false* object or person, then that's a different case, not of bhakti.
