Father Mark Beard's homily was so wonderful as always, this about the Hand's was a great addition to his homily on the Mass. I am going to miss him so much & keep him in my prayers as always.

Now I understand why not raise your hands in the Our Father, we don’t raise our hands

This was a very educational sermon - the gestures at Mass. And that also shows the creeping errors into the "charismatic" movement whereby laity now adopt the orans posture of the priest. Nobody is taught the significance of these things. Not I, but my wife heard some 'modernist' "nun" poo-pooh a newly ordained priest for holding his thumb and forefinger together, saying "so pretentious". I had recently read that it was because, after consecration, to minimise any particles of the Host falling down, you hold the thumb and forefinger together. Goes to show even "nuns" don't get much schooling in Liturgy.

That looks like a pretty church why can't they have the traditional Latin Mass there? Also he should NOT be preaching in front of the altar like that so he needs to do more study in liturgy 🙄

Wonderful homily!! Good shepherd. Now next time please address the reason for June to celebrate sexual aberration as described in Leviticus?

Will someone guide me through this question?.....I am 69 and have been making the Sign Of The Cross since 1958 (best I can recall). The Nun's insisted I use my right hand(they always carried the long ruler in their right hand), the public school teachers strongly insisted you use your right hand (it was easier for them to teach you how to write), the chair and desk(one piece) was designed for a right handed person, I was taught the pledge of allegiance right hand over the heart, the hand crank can openers and scissors are made for right handers ---- case in point I am left handed and somewhat ambidextrous. Does it matter which hand to use for the Sign Of The Cross?
@marcihf217 Жыл бұрын
I am not 100% certain of this but I would use the right hand. Please take a look at these following Bible verses that talk/mention the right-hand/left-hand, right side/left side: Matthew 6:3 Matthew 22:44 Matthew 25:41 Matthew 25:33 Romans 8:34 Isiah 41:13 Psalm 110:5 Psalm 110:1 Galatians 2:9 Psalm 118: 15-16 Exodus 15:6 Psalm 89:13 Ecclesiastes 10: 2-3

Use the right hand. Then you end up 🆙 n your right hand shoulder. Right hand of god. I didn’t learn this just figured this is how it was meant to be.

It’s about making the sign of the Cross. We can make the sign of the Cross with either hand. God is not looking and watching if you don’t make the sign of the Cross with your right hand. 😊

It’s ultimately what’s in your heart. (I’m left handed too but not ambidextrous - some word isn’t it!). Please watch the warning or illumination of conscience by Christine Watkins. Following Padre Pio. In the footstep’s of Padre Pio. The Papacy can NOT be destroyed. Don’t call protestant’s Christian! God bless. Praise Jesus and Mary always!!! I ask my guardian angel to help you with yours. (please watch Padre Pio and the guardian angel’s. Also Padre Pio and the beautiful holy Rosary!).

a lady from my church Mrs.M plainly quoted this from the Apostles Creed....I believe in God, the Father almighty.....on the third day he ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty.....!
