Hey mate, Firstly awesome video! Everything worked perfectly, up until flashing android. *Fix Below* When attempting to flash LineageOS I was met with "Failed to load boot device or script, Rebooting in 10s" To rectify this issue all I had to do was add the boot.scr file from the LineageOS into the switchroot/android folder on the SD card. I'm not sure if it's because I'm running an OLED, or if it's just an extra step with the latest LineageOS packages, but hopefully this comment helps someone out! :)

While building the android version yourself, boot.scr must also be downloaded and placed in switchroot/android/ folder for booting into recovery mode

I reached out to the mod chip installer and he said of the last 12 mods he installed 6 would allow him to install Android, and 6 would not, the only difference between them all was SD card type, he said its not Mod chip based but rather on SD card speed type, so I purchased the Sandisk Extreme Pro and tried it with no EmuMMC just hekate and android, but still when I get to the Flash Android it goes through great, I get the LineageOS splash image, but it goes black then restarts, mod chip kicks in and delivers its job then I am back to Hekate, any other ideas I can look at? @sthetixofficial

First, thank you for this amazing comprehensive guide. I am a lost cause on IT and was able to follow it perfectly. I wanted to leave my comment here in case it is helpful for others, due to a problem I had: My issue: Although the Android was perfectly fine, when I tried accessing the emunand the Switch didn't recognize my SD card. To fix it: : 1. Rebooted my system, turning it off and on again. 2. On the Hetake homescreen (v6.2.1), I went to Tools; 3. On the bottom right corner, clicked on the "Arch bit" section. 4. Selected "Fix Archive Bit". 5. Turned off and on again and it worked perfecly. I hope this can help anyone on the same issue.

After successfuly flashing the boot.img, nm-plat.dtimg and recovery.img and clicking continue, I just get the Lineage splash screen for about 5 seconds before booting back to Hekate. Have re-partitioned/formatted SD card but no change.

There's something odd in my case. When i flash android it detects the image and flash it and shows: Android Flasher Success: Kernel image flashed Success: Recovery image flashed Success: DTB image flashed And only show the "OK" button and not the restart recovery to finish android installation. Then i try again to flash and now it shows that image is not found and etcetera and now it shows the button and loads the lineage os blue screen but then it keeps on for a long time. The most i've awaited was like 30 mins and then i got dissesperated and turn the console off

I had some issues, all related to the lack of free memory. I don't have enough space to keep the emuMMC Backup + All SD Content - Partition Size for Android... It's something to have taken into consideration from the start. Otherwise, everything works perfectly. Well almost. The Gamepass app doesn't recognize RT and LT... ex: Forza 5, when I press RT to accelerate do nothing, on Doom Eternal pressing RT doesn't shoot.

@@lilgil03 I had the same issue. What I did to make it work is: 1. update firmware to 18.1.0 and 2. the partition for android has to be dynamic. You cannot use the partition that you have had for android 11. It has to be repartitioned.

if you have two cards, then you dont need to worry about the switch side, you can just install hekate, no need to backup the emummc, just partition it and install android. that's it.

I got a question. I followed this tutorial from my light and managed to do everything. Gapps were a bust but downloaded different ones and they worked. That's not the issue though. The issue im having is that on first boot no physical controls( buttons and joysticks) work. On restart of android they do but can't be picked up by the apps. Any idea dwhat it could be. Edit: every time the console boots only the joysticks work until a button is pressed no matter which one it is and nothing works.

I got lineage os up and running well, but i have an issue Every time I boot into lineage os, a notification pops up, which says "checking sd card," and then says "issue with sd card." When pressing it, it tells me to format the sd. I tried that, and it says "good to go," but the notification still stays. Are there any fixes for this? I have the sd formatted as fat 32, and i'm not sure if that's the issue. Would reformatting it as exfat change anything?

Thank you for the guide! I have one quesiton: since we've created a partition for Android, if I insert the SD card into my computer now I'll only see the remaining partition. Let's say I have a file that is larger than the unused partition but smaller than the Android partition, and I'd like to copy it to the SD card so I can use it on Android. How can I do that on my computer?

@@sthetixofficial not to install, but to copy it to the SD card so I can view/open it on Android. But I just figured out. I just need to run Android on the Switch and connect it to my PC via USB, then choose the file transfer option in the USB settings on Android (instead of taking out the SD card and doing the transfer on my PC).

no. u must remove the emmc and replace it with a larger capacity one. it is a hassle and not worth at all
