Are the ilia or CT or Merit or Tom ford sticks blurring at all? I think you said the CT one isn’t actually blurring, but just doesn’t make things look worse if I understood you correctly… Usually I will only like a foundation if it blurs pores. Normally I use the Givenchy Prisme Libre skin caring glow foundation.. or the chantecaille future skin foundation.. which both have really good blurring properties to them.. I want to try a stick foundation or a cream, but #1 requirement is the blurred/filtered effect.. I tried to use the Tom ford one last summer, but I ordered a couple of shades claiming to be olive and they were legit pink.. and then I gave up trying to find a shade at all because it was a lot of money in returns and kind of embarrassing to take back to Sephora. I don’t actually need them to be olive, as I have recently found out, I just need like a neutral-yellow undertone and the olive was helping me cancel out redness.
@NotFitforPrintBeauty
@NotFitforPrintBeauty 3 ай бұрын
I totally hear you. There’s this inherent shame in the Sephora return. And that shouldn’t be the case. Are these blurring? Well. The Tom ford a bit but more because it’s more coverage than the formula.

What’s happening with the TF stick foundation? Is it being discontinued or reformulated?? So strange
@NotFitforPrintBeauty
@NotFitforPrintBeauty 3 ай бұрын
It’s like that so often with his other products such as the brow gel. I assume it’s getting discontinued because it goes on sale and then every store has three shades and then, the next week, it’s not on sale and all the stores are restocked. And it feels like every time I get a definite answer is actually really just a rumor.

I bought the Chantecaille Face Stick to try as a concealer. It seems to work well for that for me. However, I'm not sure if this product is being reformulated or is disappearing. The reviews when I bought it mentioned the small size for the money, which is probably correct if one is using it to cover their entire face. As an unrelated side note, I have been using (and hoarding...I bought 5) of the Chanel Les Beiges Primers. I'm almost done with my second one in the Light Copper shade. Basically, I've been wearing it alone with just a bit of powder on top and no foundation. It counteracts the slight redness on my nose. I'm wondering if at some point you could do a video on products that work great, but perhaps not in the way the brand who made them might have intended.

Oh my goodness oh my goodness. I am looking at my notes right now and I actually have that sketched out from a few months ago. Seriously I just didn’t know what to call it. Stick foundations have actually been around since 1948 when Max Factor launched Pan-Stik. I can remember Merle Norman also having a stick foundation, and that's because I've been around since dinosaurs roamed the plains. Back in the day they were around $1.50.....lol. I love Tom Ford products but haven't tried his stick foundation, but now that you speak highly of it, I will give it a try. There are just too many on the market now, and it's totally confusing.

So.... I have a love/hate relationship with Lancome which made one of the better sticks back when... works well. In Miami's humidity tends to get on the cell phone and no I don't use make up sprays but if I did it probably wouldn't. Bought several over the years, before sticks were popular. It's a great product. And, my favorite is MILK tho I use it more as a touch up in that it actually covers well under the eyes, across the impt spots and leaves a glow w/o the "dolphin" shiny look that's been populare. It just "lightens" covers imperfections incredibly for ppl of all ages. I may check out the Merit next time I'm in Sephora. ps covered the part about the stick that's advertised to give you glow, giving you glow but ppl complain it glows too much :) loved it

I feel like the Ilia is a slightly inferior copy of the Bobbi Brown stick (which I really love) in terms of performance, and the Ilia one also irritated my skin. I didn't really like the Tom Ford one too much, personally. I like the Merit one a lot but do not consider it to be a foundation stick since I never would use it over my whole face - it is really just a concealer stick, and they REALLY need more shades in that one. I do like the Westman Atelier one quite a bit, but it also needs more shades and I think the BB one is better.

I'm always on the lookout for good sticks. They're just so easy. My favorite is Tom Ford's, and I hope it's not being discontinued. I still have quite a bit of it left, and I'll be sad when I use it up and can't replace it. I do like the Ilia stick. For once, the shade match is spot-on. Basma's is a pretty good shade match, but the formula can be temperamental. Sometimes, it cakes up in certain areas. The Fenty stick is temperamental as well, collecting in pores on occasion. Ogee makes a good one that provides coverage, but the shade range is pathetic. The lightest shade is a bit too dark on my skin, and I'm not the palest person on the planet. I like Huda's stick, which I mostly wear in the summer because it's slightly drying. I shall pass on the new Charlotte Tilbury stick. Rebecca, you are the only KZbin reviewer who looks good to me wearing it. It's way too glowy for my taste. It actually looked nasty on a few of the people who put it on. I wouldn't want to have to apply as much powder as it would take to make it look decent. There's a new stick out by Yensa that I'm curious about. It's alleged to have good coverage, yet the shade range stinks. I've seen only one review of it so far. Great video, Rebecca! Oh--I tried to join the Facebook group but was rejected. I don't think I scrolled down enough to see that I needed to answer more questions. I hope I'll get another chance.

Great quick look for “no makeup” days. I don’t feel like it is Flawless Filter in stick form - which I’m not a fan of. Different formulation and finish. Watched this while applying a stick foundation. 😂 Bobbi Brown, Lancôme and Westman were ones I thought would be ranked. I like Blue Mercury’s l&a silk stick. OMG! You put this video together so quickly!!! Thank you for putting this together! It sounds like you are feeling better too!! I enjoy the Basma stick foundation and it is very full coverage and long lasting! My biggest complaint is the cost. I thought this could be a replacement for TF, although there is no real replacement for the TF stick foundation! It is half the size of TF and half the cost, so it is cheaper to get the TF stick foundation. Well that is to say, if the TF is not discontinued. It is also smaller than the new Charlotte Tilbury. The TF foundation is the best!! Maybe it is not discontinued but just not being sold at Sephora. It seems Nordstroms always has it and it’s never on sale like it was at Sephora. Hi Rebecca! Thank you for this great stick foundation ranking. Your top pick has been impossible to get here in Canada for a long while - over one year in my shade. One brand that is readily available here and that you did not mention is Westman Atelier - and I am most curious to know how it compares with the TF and your top 2 and 3. On me, the WA is less draggy than the Merit and it’s far less oily than the Basma, which settles into my pores like lava.

I think they charge way too much for what you get and I think the packaging is pretentious so I have played with a bit but not enough to really review it. I have yet to fully embrace her brand.

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty You’re so right about the pretentiousness - not just the packaging BTW - and the prices. That e-said, there are three items that I consider to be worth every penny because there are no good dupes for them: the contour stick in Biscuit, and both eye makeup brushes. I hear the brand is up for sale.

Really interesting video, Rebecca. I use TF, Bobbi Brown, and Lancome foundation sticks. If I had to have just one, it would be Lancome; they have a beige shade and their cream-to-powder formula is super easy to apply with hands on the go. I'm planning on trying the CT one and experimenting with it over foundation as well as a glowy base.

I have to admit that I've been eyeing the Merit stick at Sephora. It looks perfect for travel/quick trips to the grocery store. Once again, Merit draws me in with the packaging! Luckily it's displayed right next to the oil/serum - I'm eyeing that too! Thank you Rebecca for noting that we'll need a moisturizer/skin prep underneath with this one. I need moisturizer in any case, so I'm thinking of trying it. Also love the idea of using this in a darker shade as concealer/contour.

Oh good, Rachel, I’m glad that you’re looking at the serum too. The combination is absolutely lovely. And you can also use the same shade that you buy for the foundation as a little extra in spots for coverage so that you don’t have to spend more until you know that you love it.

Agreed Tom Ford is best ever. So sad ifs in flux. I did pick up an extra one when they went half off but it’s not my exact shade. It’s like one shade too dark. But I mix it. Next fav is the Huda stick. Fenty looks great for a few hours. Good errand foundation. Not even trying CT

Fenty is totally an errand foundation. That is so funny and so true. Yes, with oily skin you would be so massively disappointed by the Charlotte. Unless you have some sort of masochistic tendency I would stay away from it.

I was disappointed in your ct stick foundation review. You purposely did it in dim lighting. That was shady af. I saw someone else did that too. Be at least honest with your viewers. Instead of worrying about pissing off brands.
@NotFitforPrintBeauty

Well generally I wouldn’t respond to this as it’s unfounded but it’s so from left field that I have to respond. I purposely did a review in dim lighting? The lighting is the same on all my reviews and I check my lighting consistently. I wasn’t honest with my opinions? And who would I be worried about pissing off? I have worked with Charlotte in the past and it didn’t go well and I doubt I will ever work with them again. You are very entitled to your opinion and I would never delete your comment but this is wildly inappropriate and off-base. It sounds to me like we just didn’t agree on the product and therefore you assume that I am insincere or that I was kissing up to a brand. I have never kissed up to a brand in my entire life and I never will. I am owed an apology for this attack but, sadly, I will never get one from you.

I do love the TF stick foundation. I do like the convenience of them but I seem to often use my liquids more. I’m glad you’re doing this and I actually have to get the right shade. Somehow I always get too light. Might need to look into Ilia. I’ve read a few comments here and people seem to be mentioning the Lacome foundation stick. Maybe worth checking out. Wish they would bring their bronzer and highlighter to US stores. Been looking for them too.

Karen! I never thought of listening to Lancome because no one ever asked me about it even though it really is truly a very good foundation stick. But I left it out of the lineup since it’s not one of the ones I’m most asked about and then it’s appearing all over comments so it’s definitely one to consider. It is indeed a very good product

@@NotFitforPrintBeauty I think there is so much out there, newer brands and all of that drowns out the older brands. I think it’s interesting if something is plain good, reminding is a great thing. I really don’t need 27 foundations, but having overall great 5-8 that you like for different reasons is the way I look at. It’s funny that for instance I love the TF stick but don’t grab it all the time, maybe because it is so expensive. That’s dumb of me. Same with Prada foundation which is my favorite liquid for more coverage, more special occasions. I’m definitely going to look into Lacome stick since it has been around awhile, tested over time.

Yes, I really do like Fenty stick (and mostly in the cooler months or in all-day indoor AC if it's summer, as you talked about), but I have to powder it down, for sure. I am very oily in the t-zone and oily all over in summer, but it's not a problem with the right powder and I'm in AC environment. I don't like full coverage or heavy foundation, so I really do like it for a natural look and an everyday work look. Also, I am very pale and I find shade 2 to be perfect. I don't have any other Fenty products but I really do like it and I will re-purchase in autumn.
