Loved this podcast. So much joy which is very needed right now. I have a little tip for you guys if you don't already know. There's a knit shop in NZ called Clementine Knit Shop that has a small selection of Fritidsgarn, which is running a bit low right now but they seem to restock quite regularly and the shipping is not much more than you would pay to ship within Melbourne. I am also obsessed with the double slippers and like Sarah am slowly knitting them for my whole family.

So glad to know about this, always need more Fritisgarn suppliers...

This made me so happy - you have a beautiful friendship. If I were you,, Sarah, I would think about the brioche that you have done so far as a BIG learning curve project, rip it out and repurpose the yarn. I bet you will enjoy the whole experience so much more reknitting the cardigan knowing that you have enough yarn. Twice the fun haha. Also, Stephen West has a good video on fixing brioche mistakes so you could have a play with the knit before ripping it out

Yay!! Great to see you guys together, was a fun, inspiring episode. Sarah, Im so glad you liked the Nutiden...That green was made for you, maybe you could use the other colours for colour work with the green? I couldn't workout what to do with it. The dress you made is gorgeous, it looks tailored. Im looking forward to hearing some stories from Paige's ventures and drooling over her acquisitions 😁

Yayyy reunited and it feels so good (Brooklyn 99 reference - I think I remember you grabbed the "cool cool cool" quote at some point in the past, awkward if I remembered incorrectly). OMG PAIGE that 2025 jumper is so good, I really want to make one...but I'll be back in Aus by then...and it'll be too hot for me I think. I could just knit one and admire it hanging on the rack hmmm... And Sarah your Stick Season is so good! I really want to make a navy Stick cardigan when it's released! The navy looks so expensive, but in a "I've owned this forever" kind of way.

Great episode! Brioche grows/stretches a lot on its own waight. A cropped cardigan will grow probably 10cm or more. Same for sleeves, they will stretch. Knit a little less than needed and gravity will do the rest.

Sarah's churning butter dress is so cute! Do you have any tips on choosing viscose fabric? I've only used linen, muslin & cotton so far.
@twopurlsinapodАй бұрын
Not really, I get a bit nervous when straying outside linen and cotton. I just bought it from a brand that does really nice good quality fabric so I just trust them, it's called Atelier Brunette if you've heard of it?

Hi Paige, I recently went on a yarn shopping tour of Scotland, including Shetland. I bought lots and lots of yarn. I packed it into vacuum bags so that I could fit it into my bag to bring back to Melbourne. Since unpacking, it is absolutely fine. The only issue has been ball bands and labels getting crinkled, but the yarn is perfect ❤

I think your Agnete cardi will be fine Sarah, I’ve recently made one in drops flora+kid silk - based on recommended amounts I bought 400g of flora and 175g of kid silk and I think I had nearly 100g of flora left over and 30g of kid silk left over - I did go up to a 4mm needle, so it may be a bit more airy, but it’s definitely not cropped. So overall I think I only used 1200m not 1400.

Really enjoying seeing you two together again Sarah love your Stick Season sweater - would be so cute with some cuffed white shorts - on the boat Good job on your Agnete pronunciation- much better It was me flagging you might not have enough yarn for it and I still think that But here’s an idea - knit the sleeves stockinette I made an Orchid cardigan by Julia Wilkens with brioche body and stockinette sleeves and I love it Not exactly your original vision but better than frogging Finally brioche mistakes are soo hard to fix , Stephen West has a great tutorial on this, check it out

Sarah, re your yarn issue, you could try making The First Cardigan by Lizzie from Hive Knits. It has brioche sleeves but the body is stockinette souses less yarn than all over brioche. It’s a lovely design too.

What a lovely gift you got Sarah! 😍 Do you know what kind of yarn it is? If I were to guess I’d say that’s Nutiden yarn - Swedish unspun that comes in limited batches… if you haven’t heard of that hype yet (can’t remember if you’ve mentioned it at some point) I think you will enjoy checking them out, they make the most amazing colours (but a warning might be necessary - it’s hard not to get veeeery excited about their yarns). Höner & Eir is the name of the mill (and their instagram name)! Love love love Nutiden yarn - and not just bcs I’m Swedish 😅❤

Sarah you can try measuring out a few meters (say 10) and weight it and compare to the total weight of the skein to better confirm the total length. Hope that makes sense.

Regarding your yarn chicken cardigan, Sarah: how about knitting the sleeve cuffs in a complementary color? And knit the cuff ribbing a bit deeper than the pattern calls for? If you plan on using buttons, then the complementary color of the cuffs could coordinate with your buttons and voila! You'll have an "I meant to do that" result. 🙂
