Thank you for speaking about possum fibre! In New Zealand they are a danger to our native kiwi and other native birds too 😭 I love how excited you both get for each other’s projects ❤️

Paige - that bow vest is **chef's kiss** and love that green border/general colour choices. So for context, I'm originally from Perth, lived in Melbourne briefly too...BUT now briefly in thr States: Thought of you girls today, went to my new "local" yarn store (lol took an uber for 30mins), and thought I'd died and gone to yarn heaven. They had hand dyes from local makers, knitting for olive, sandnes garne (they had POPPY in autumn in stock??!!), Jamieson's, Biches et Bouches, Noro (so many lines!!), i bought Sarah's Mykt Til Dame book (sorry, not sorry, so influenced), plutolopi and all these wheels of unspun yarn, aahhh and so many more. I was totally unprepared because their insta and website are still a work in progress. Have to go back with a game plan. Still have flutters thinking about it 😍

That was cool to hear about the possum yarn! Never knew that was a thing! I am excited to knit the book club cardigan with sandnes recycled tweed :) My favorite yarn is holst garn cielo- it’s so unique and delightful to knit with! It’s a blown wool/alpaca blend, and I love the muted fuzziness and squish factor

You two are just the bees knees! Always such a lovely watch. My current fav yarn to knit with is Camellia Fiber Co. Flax Fingering. Perfect for Texas summers that last 6 months! The blend of alpaca, linen, and silk is just 🤌🏻. Second runner up is Isager Alpaca 1 for all the reasons you talked about 😍

Love hearing about different fibers from different places! Just as my favorite project is always my last cast off, my favorite yarn currently is one I used recently for a Tolsta Tee - Pure Silk! It’s a really interesting fiber - not really ‘silky’ but rather light yet strong and the tee has wonderful drape. Would love to try possum yarn too! Love your podcast - your enthusiasm inspires me every episode 💕

I've made some delicious mitts in Zealand before and love the yarn so much. Definitely a great use of a pest in NZ. My favourite yarn to knit with at the moment is this yarn I found at Bendigo sheep and wool by a small farm called Karoa fibres. The yarn has mohair in it so it's super soft when washed and has a beautiful halo! It's really affordable too! I'm falling back in love with all things Australian yarns because of your podcast! Bendigo woollen mills is so under-rated!

Thoroughly enjoy watching you both; very inspirational. I think my favorite yarn choice would have to be a Merino wool with a strand of Suri Alpaca. It’s so soft and doesn’t irritate my skin. Happy knitting!

Thanks for the fun episode, as always!! You two are such hype girls and i love ittt 💖 As a relatively new knitter i haven't gotten around to trying out that many different yarns, but my favorite so far has been this 40% merino, 30% silk and 30% yak blend that i got from a local indie dyer. It feels soooo luxe and created the most beautiful drape~

I love wooly yarns that contain linen. It softens up wonderfully with time. Obsessed 🤩 Also, since the early days of my knitting (like, 7-8 years ago maybe?) I adore tweedy textures and woollen spun yarns. I haven't ever tried any possum yarns, but I'd love to!

Thank you for the interesting possum fiber information! I live in Minnesota in the states and there have been many invasive species, such as carp, that have devastated the lakes and have to be culled. It is nice when they can find a use for them-like dog food. I like to use merino since I have sensitive skin but I also enjoy using blow yarns. They do make such light, warm sweaters and vests!

I love this podcast. It feels to me like listening to my friends who are as excited about yarn and knitting as I am. Your sweater in the Sandnes garn Poppy yarn is amazing. I was really excited for the book club cardigan pattern to come out too. I was swatching for it before it's released using some yarn I got in the Catskills region of New York. I'm in love with this yarn. It is called American Ewe worsted tweed. I bought it in the color way called earth tones. It's so soft and beautiful and lovely to knit with.

My favorite yarn to date that I’ve used is KnitPicks Palette, which is 100% Peruvian Highland wool. It’s so surprisingly soft to the touch, and softer than other PHW yarns I’ve used. It does pill, but not as bad as other yarns and it feels nice to wear so I don’t care too much! Basic but beautiful!

I get so excited every time I see that you have posted a video! I am still new to knitting so I haven't gotten to try too many yarns yet, but I do know that fiber-wise I prefer wool fibers to cotton-- I love the way wool changes when you block it, and how it feels afterwards. Love the podcast as always. Love reading the comments too and seeing what yarns people favour. I like non superwash wooly yarns for jumpers etc that wear well and don’t pill. I generally use the merino or other soft fibres for shawls and hats. My workhorse go tos are KnitPicks Palette (especially for colourwork) and Holst Supersoft. Also love Rowan Felted Tweed just for the gorgeous flecks colours and it’s soft but wears well imo. Also partial to all yarns Isager cos of the way they combine. And Sarah, my row gauge is always off!, usually I get less rows than stipulated! 😟 As you say, it often doesn’t matter but I do get a bit sick of adjusting for it. It’s a total mystery to me.

favorite yarn to use is 100% wool because its so hardwearing and has such nice traits like its temperature regulating etc. i find its just nice to work with on the hands. however, i will never say no to a wool/silk mohair mix as it makes it that much softer and more lux and the mohair helps protect the wool a little too. i also live in melbourne and have been looking into possum yarn for a while but its always been just that little bit out of the price range for a uni student like me, but i have seen samples in stores around victoria and it is so incredibly soft!!

My favourite yarn to use recently has been Rowan Kidsilk Haze (70% mohair, 30% silk) because I used it to make my own Stockholm V-neck slipover recently (as inspired by Paige)! I even chose the colourway Bark because I loved your colour choice and it was my first mohair project!

So interesting to hear about possum yarn - I’ve never heard of it before. My favourite yarn to knit with at the moment is my own hand-spun merino yarn.

I love watching how excited you both get about each other’s projects! I just finished a beanie in a cormo yarn from Louie and Lola in Tasmania, and it’s my current favourite - so lovely to knit with and the finished product looks and feels beautiful.

My favourite is Ulysse, a Woollen spun eco sport weight merino yarn by de Rerum Natura, it's light as air and has the most amazing feel, great stitch definition too.I made an all over cable cardigan with it four years ago, ( Monstera by Joji Locatelli)it gets worn a lot and it still looks as good as the day I cast it off!

I love the energy ya'll bring to your videos. I've been on a sock kick lately which is mostly been hand dyed, sw merino wool and nylon. But I've also been knitting a t-shirt with a wool/ silk blend that I've really been loving! Such a light and lovely fabric!

Right now I feel like one of my favorite fibers to work with is alpaca silk blends. I have a fabulous yarn from a local farm that I have yet to make anything with because I can't find the perfect pattern for it! It's just so soft and squishy!

I recently took a trip to New Zealand and I loooove the yarn I got there - including the possum ones! It's among my favorite yarn I ever bought. I will say though, that I was lucky enough to take a trip to Norway the previous summer, and it is like the battle of the yarn vacations - Norwegian wool is also just so freaking amazing

My favorite yarn is Rambouillet from The Farmers Daughter Fibers ! They have a base called Reminisce that has some grey Rambouillet wool woven in and it makes the most gorgeous colors.

The bookclub cardigan will be my first evers knitted cardigan and I'm so hyped! Everyone in the Instagram chat is so so nice, too! I adore 100% Merino sock yarn, most other sock yarns are a little too itchy for me. But I think my favourite garment yarn so far was Hobbii Friends Cotton Silk which is 73% cotton and 23% silk and so incredibly soft and comfortable. I made a gr8 gingham crop top out of it and it's my favourite self knitted piece so far!

I knitted one garment recently with Zealana Kauri and Heron worsted and I love them so much. Since then I’ve been looking into merino possum yarns more, every time I touch samples made from this type of yarn it is so soft and it has that nice halo from possum fur. I really want to try out a hand dyed merino possum yarn one day as well, as it has that earthy undertone from the possum that is so good!

Wow, just stumbled across your channel and now I'm looking forward to catching up on past episodes too! I do love possum in a yarn blend and have previously admired Zealana yarns for their beautiful colour palettes. For the majority of my year I would opt for something with linen and/or silk content.

Love your videos! I was really interested to hear more about possum fibre as I'd never heard of this before I started watching your channel. I don't have a favorite yarn really as I'm just getting back into knitting after a very long break (I learned to knit as a child and just used whatever I could get at the local stores, so nothing very fancy). I tend to gravitate towards really soft, fuzzy yarns, so like most anything that is marketed for baby blankets and clothing. I'm excited to branch out of my comfort zone though and try all the different options. I've been looking at Alpaca yarns lately and trying to figure out some choices for some projects I'm looking at. I'll have to give the cardigan KAL a go! Wishing you both a lovely day!

It’s summer here for me but you both are making me want to make allll the cozy pullovers! 😅 I’ve loved working with or wearing cotton blends as they are so easy to wear and wash. But I think my current favorite yarn is the Carlsbad Worsted base from Explorer Knits and Fibers which is a superwash merino. It was so smooth and soft and light to work it and EKF is an amazing dyer. I will definitely be adding more to my stash in the future.

I’m a big fan of Zealana yarns & possum yarn in general. When I visited New Zealand I purchased a beautiful possum beanie that has lasted the test of time & still looks brand new! My favourite yarn?? I really love the Inca Spun Heritage sock yarn with its addition of alpaca 👌🏼

I'm really new at knitting so I don't have too much experience using different yarn, but I really liked The fiber Co. Acadia yarn which I used pretty recently. I used it in a colorwork beanie and it was really fun to see work up since it has a bit of a tweed texture. It also made a really soft, comfortable fabric being a mix of merino wool, baby alpaca, and silk noil. I am sensitive to itch and this one isn't itchy at all. I will really likely be buying more of it to make into other garments because I liked it so much.

Thank you for checking and then sharing the information about the possum yarn. It's important to be ethical in our shopping choices. I am currently working with an alpaca/ lambswool blend held double with a silk mohair. So loads of animals haha!! The combination is like a cloud ❤

Great podcast as always. I really love knitting with natural fibres in combination such as wool alpaca maybe with a touch of silk. A slightly heathered yarn in neutral colours is my favourite. I would love to knit up something with a bit of yak or possum.

I've only just discovered your podcast in the last month or so, and am so happy to find some lovely fellow Aussie knitters! 😊 I mostly have experience with knitting with Bendigo Woollen Mills, wool and cotton which I really enjoy. I was surprised by how soft, cool to the touch and lovely to knit with the cotton is to work with. Which worked out well as I made the Stripe Hype Dress by Kutovakika 😂 But the wool I'm loving the most is some wool that I was gifted by my family a couple of Christmases ago, which is actually a possum blend! It's Supreme Possum Merino, 40% possum, 50% merino and 10% silk ❤ It's so soft and lovely to work with. I ended up making a self drafted vest with side ties. I'd love to try the Kuari yarn and would love to join the Book Club Cardi KAL 🧶😍🎉

i appreciate the info about possum fiber! i think it's important for knitters to think about where their fibers are coming from (if they have the ability/means to do so of course). i'm unfortunately pretty sensitive to rustic wools, so i'm mostly a merino girl, but i'm always on the lookout for wools that my skin can handle and prefer hardier merino yarns. i think my favorite yarn to knit with has been knitting for olive (both regular and heavy merino), but there's still a ton of yarns that i'd like to try knitting with! i also like brooklyn tweed arbor as a non-merino alternative that doesn't bother my skin!
