Thanks so much for this information! I leaned a little about stick welding in college art class, but I want to pursue welding further both for art and possibly for repair for profit. There is something immensely satifying about learning new things always, even at 60 years young.

Great video man. Thanks for not making it an hour-long and getting right to the point. There wasn't too much information but there was just enough to learn the basics. Everything you said was on point with what my instructor taught me and my welding class.

Thank you for being quick and to the point instead of assuming the viewer is dumb. If someone thinks it's safe to touch hot metal or create a short circuit on purpose, they should be as far as possible of any electric or sharp tool.

This is one of the best videos that I've run across for the novice welder. Or us old guys that have forgotten a lot over the years. I myself have a Lincoln AC Buzz Box that I've had for 40 years. It's still like new and works that way. I also have a Century built "Quick Fix" mig welder that's almost as old but I'm going to upgrade to a Hobart 210 mvp this year. All I'm saying is that your video was informative and it put things out there in a way that people can understand. Great job. 👍

You can can do either. Most the time for thin stuff you will just drag, thicker and wider welds will require a back and forth manipulation.

A good rule of thumb is to run the same thickness of material x 1000. So if you have 1/8" which is 0.125 then times that by 1000 and you should run at 125 amps. Obviously give or take depending on rods.
