This is one of my favorite vintage cube videos you've uploaded to your channel. the archetype and colors felt so obviously open and prioritizing lands paid off so nicely later on. There were a million possibilities in the gameplay but you navigated these lines that felt like you'd inevitably win no matter the board state. Plus the balance zuran orb combo is so sick haha

A small tip for avoiding the superannoying sideboard slider is to right click in the sideboard, choose "select all" and then drag the closest card just slightly up and down. Then all cards will be visuable in a single pile. Maybe you already knew this and if so ignore what I said. Was just horrible to see the struggle 😂. Love all your content. Keep it up ❤

I LOVE Lands Matters decks and, although I’ve never quite been fortunate enough to paper draft any of the sets in which the good ones reside, or really be able to afford/set aside as much $$$ for the Wastelands and Strip Mines and whatnot, whenever I’m able to digitally draft a Lands central deck I’m all over the challenge; It’s a special occasion and this deck is super sweet.

As someone who started playing Magic a little under 10 years ago, I could never understand what made a card like Zuran Orb good. The low-resource world of 90s Magic just isn't something you get to experience that much anymore, so it is a treat to see decks like this one do their thing.

This draft really shows the importance of: 1) taking lands (not just cause you wound up in the lands deck). 2) staying flexible and open if you don't see a compelling reason not to. You literally said "there's zuran orb for the lands deck, we're not doing that" and then proceeded to change into that. That is top tier cubing. 3) taking powerful, generic, good, interactive cards and wheeling the specific cards is critical to make a good deck.

Lands is my favorite deck to draft in cube. It just plays like nothing else, and it's super interesting to have all of these interactions and combos within such a tight core package (Depths, Stage, Strip, Wasteland, Crucible, Crop Rotation, Ramunap, KOTReliquary, Reclaimer). There's also a lot of redundancy built into it with the exception of Strip Mine. It also seems to be *heavily* under-drafted, which means you scoop up half these things on the wheel.

I feel like Balance is one of those cards where the brain kinda tricks players into imagining all of these scenarios where it might not be that good. But in practice, it almost never happens that the card just isn't the absolute nuts. I know it's partly because Balance seldom finds it's way in deck that doesn't have at least some ways to set it up a little. But still. I am often surprised by how late that card goes.
