So a couple of weeks / months ago I made a video "Teaching A.I. to Play my Game!", which was my first A.I. project ever, and I had a lot of fun with it. So today, inspired by Code Bullet's video "A.I. Learns To Walk", we are testing if an A.I. Stickman can also learn to walk! I'm a huge fan of physics and stickmen, so this was a very fun project to work on, and I'm very happy with the result!

Adding control of the arms would make a huge difference. When you run you swing your arms as a way to balance our body to stay upright during stride and to keep your inertia balanced so you can get you next stride ready. This is why a lot of these AI’s always develop such weird runs. Because of the physics engine used to train them, and the lack of proper weight distribution and motor controls. For example, you should have made their upper arms weigh the average % of their total body weight each. Then gave them the ability to control them, while still penalizing them if they used them on the ground. So it’s head should weigh 8.26% of its total weight, it’s whole midsection should be 46.84%, each upper arm 3.25%, each forearm and hand 2.52%, each thigh 10.5%, and each leg and foot 6.18%. This would allow the ai to recognize the forces individually and allow the physics engine to effect the body more accurately and force the AI to learn how to control its body and balance it properly with all those different weight distributions and the inertia that it plays on it when moving. This would most likely result in it developing a run that is MUCH closer to a normal human run.
