I'm a Montreal fan and I don't understand why people had such high expectations for this team this year. I can see an improvement from the past year, but I was baffled how people thought they had playoff shot. Need another year or two, but the young stars are improving and that's what matters.

I could see them in the mix for that 2nd WC spot, but playoffs? I think they'd need 3-4 other teams to completely fall apart down the stretch.

I dont get it either ... Most of the young player arnt there yet ... only 1 good line ... young Dcore ... two #2 seed goalie even one could be in a farm system somewhere still young not ready to be a backup ... So yeah I was seeing them avec 20th ... not has high has some people were seeing them ... But tbf Quebecers arnt really the most patient people so the pressure is insane ... Many whan St-Louis out ... witch make completly no senser since were still in rebuild .. and many are 'trolling' that were in rebuild since 93 witch isnt near to be right Xd ( the best canadians team most win in playoffs over Oilers an toronto since the 2000 years ... ) its a rought time but I think in 2-3years they gonna be really good.

I my case, I saw how quickly the younger stars were developing and how weak some of the 'playoff' teams in the East were. I figured they'd be in the mix for the last WC spot, but would fall short. Never thought they'd be in the mix for another 1st overall instead :(

Kind of lucky that NHL 25 doesn't create conditions for draft picks as that Calgary pick is top 10 protected. Makes Montreal rebuild in the game easier but Calgary Flames rebuild a little more challenging to not tank the first year.
