Thank you so much Sean for fixing my bike!! I am so sorry about the mouse poop and bedding. You are right I don't have a garage or barn to put her in. So I have a cover. I live on a lake in the forest and we battle the mice constantly. I am so so grateful to you and Kelly for fixing it all up! Those handle bars are a dream!! You're so very welcome! Don't worry, I see the mice issue a lot. Thankfully there were no nests... Lol Do what you can to try and keep them away. I soaked the cables heavily, and route them a little differently, so hopefully this will last the life of the bike. I was hoping to hear from you about the bars... I'm glad you're loving them! FYI for mice "control" I've used both Bounce dryer sheets & pieces of Irish Spring soap strategically placed IN my Harley chassis & around the electrical components. Has worked perfectly for years! Never had a problem. The scent deters any permanent residency. 👍👍

@@TheSmoaksVlogs - I put 4-5 dryer sheets under the seat and tuck them in spaces around the battery and around wire lumes etc. Also a couple above each cylinder (under the gas tank). Two in each muffler, a couple in front of the gas tank where there's wiring, 2 by the starter, and 1 under each side panel. Living in Northern Minnesota folks do this to their snow machines all the time during the spring/summer/fall months for pest deterrence.

I’ll also own a 2020 RT Ltd purchased new. Both side case (panniers) latch cables had rusted badly and one ended up snapping. It appeared these cables weren’t lubricated when manufactured which is pretty poor. My Spyder is garaged at all times, cleaned regularly and well maintained. What doesn’t make sense is the dirt, dust and road grime that’s thrown off the rear tyre and accumulates same under the pillion seat. I’m no automotive engineer but surely they could have prevented the ingress of dirt and water from the rear tyre in the vehicle’s design. Keep up the great work and videos Shawn and how I wish you worked here in Australia as I would be your first customer. As we say here, “good onya mate” 😊👍

My wife and I are on a 10 day trip and her latch just broke off in my hand, basically locking our medicine and all our other bathroom stuff in her left saddle bag. This video (and a hastily purchased shower curtain liner for me to lay on) saved the day! I was able to open the bag and then reset the mechanism so it would latch again. You are a lifesaver!

Thank you, thank you. Order the Maxima in case dealer doesn't have it, but because it is in 20-30 now in New York, my 21 RTL will go to dealer in April. I will have them replace both cables on the bike, things is the only time bike has been in rain was the 25 miles to the dealer in April of this year. Always inside a nice well sealed garage. I downloaded in paper on the Armrest like the bike in this video. Now I just need to wait until April. 😐😐😐

I guess I'm just blessed, living in the desert, mice really aren't a problem, but honestly, a max 2-3yo Spyder RTL with latch problems..? I've had a sticky right saddle bag since day one, hit it with a knee and it pops open. Backed into a LARGE trash can and jammed my trunk lid: Took a while, but got the lid opened and changed a pin in the lid latch. Eezy, peezy. Took half of the body panels off to run some turn signal wires, but... failed to live up to my horrid expectations. Granted, I've got lotsa tools, but I'm OLD and infirm. Frankly, "I've grown quite accustomed to her face..." and innards. There was no way I was ever going to trade my '18 in on a new model, beautiful as it is, and I've never regretted that decision. It will be many-more-bugs worked out and many more than 42K+ miles before I change my mind..! ...and for Shadow Banned, C'est la vie... Your loss...

I sometimes worry about critters getting into my bike because it sits outside, and I only cover it when it’s going to be a downpour of rain. Luckily, I haven’t had any problems. Coldest morning yet here… 36F. But it’s going to the 60’s for a high, and into the 70’s later in the week. Peace and love.

Well the rain stopped the this morning, 1/12/21@07:56. Flooding is everywhere, there was 196mm in my rain guage and we are an island for the next couple of days. Nice thing for me is I don't have to work for the next 16 days so when the roads clear me an Halley are going for a ride.

The easy reach handle bars work great for me 5"5 wife smaller. Back issues and makes it ergonomical great. The 1's that came off OEM are like drag bars.

Another great video - keep up the good work. My 2020 RTL (same color) has "Sticky" saddlebag covers from the first day I got it. I have to ask if there an adjustment to make them not stick or will some WD40 on the latched do the trick? Please advise.

Shawn….off topic, but can you PLEASE do a video about wiring up heated grips on your Road King? I cannot find any good “how too” on using the HD wiring harness. Would rather not do a work around unless I have to.

you show it in various apart stages, but for us rookies, you need a video that takes it step by step please. bought used and the latches are sticking, takes a lot to open them up. dunno if I need adjustment or replace cables. it's a 2020 with 8k miles that was garage kept previously and also now

I broke the right side latch on our 2020 RTL. Dealer replaced with new latch, but now the bag won't stay closed. Will that cable adjust thin fix that? TIA

There a bulletin for the saddlebag cables, hopefully they performed that as well (if not previously performed). But, cables adjusted too tight can cause the bags to not stay shut... Thanks Dave!!

Normal warranty applies. No bulletin on this, it's just an internal Technical Service Tip (TST) for dealers. So if you're still in warranty, and you actually have an issue, BRP will pay the small cost of this repair. I personally wouldn't even take the time at the dealer. It's super easy to lube them, and not too tough if a cable(s) need replacing... Thanks Nancy!!
