The Weekender | Episode One | Yateley Pads Lake | Steve Renyard

Back in the early 2000s, Advanced Carp Fishing magazine ran a popular monthly piece with Steve Renyard called The Weekender. It was incredibly well followed and as such we have decided to give it a regeneration in video format! This monthly series will see Steve visit day-ticket fisheries across the country, with no privileges, fishing the exact same as anyone else would, Friday to Sunday.
This first episode sees him tackle the famous Yateley Pads Lake, in the hope of catching an old character from the lake.

Yes just turning up to a completely empty lake like every other angler. Just been on the phone all day and every lake i could find is fully booked until october 😅😅😅

I've been using a fluorocarbon on test from Thinking anglers it's 18 lb but a soft fluorocarbon

Just come and sub to this chan 1 tip increase your volume lvls watched the last 3 vids there all to quite. I can turn volume down but only so much i can turn it up. Apart from that great fishing vids :)

If you think about it, it's his job. The lake was booked to do a feature. The lake does exclusive bookings, ain't nout wrong with that.

Indeed all day ticket lakes will do an exclusive booking if you can afford it ,but not many of us could afford £400 for 24 hours angling?? thats not issue it hardly represents true conditions with only 3 lines in the whole lake where fish can move freely without being spooked by lines etc

@@Divingbigpete I get your point to a small extent, but in the past I've had small day ticket waters to myself in winter by pure coincidence as nobody else fished that day, so not huge difference really. And that lake is only 190 for 24 hours, for upto 10 anglers. And I'm sure you will find as a sponsored angler I would be confident to say the sponsors footed the bill as its advertising. And the only reason for an exclusive booking for the feature is to ensure nobody there to spoil takes and have to keep redoing takes because of disturbances from other anglers.

Sorry I meant 48hrs Don't get me wrong the guy is a awesome angler it just wouldn't do him justice to be there on his own as we all know fish drop their guard whens there's no lines in especially when casting over to the pads swim from the other side?? Which under normal conditions you wouldn't be able to do? But I do get it about sponsors paying for lakes etc to do features just would have made more sense to have a few of the sticky team dotted about might even fished better
