At long last, the Weekender is back, having been caught up in the madness that is day-ticket venues in the current climate. Steve finally gets himself up to Bluebell, coming off the back of a double tuition, our Weekender is faced with some terrible weather, but as always he comes out of the otherwise with a smile on his face and a carp in his arms.

I love these Weekender vlogs, I myself have fished since the very early Maddocks days, great times. I love the realness of the sessions, no swims roped off, turn up and struggle on a busy water as we all do, to find a swim. Keep the good work up Steve, can’t wait for the next one.

Lovely vlog steve going back to the early 70s i started carping 72 like you say no phones no Internet having to make your own tackle. I made rods out off tank aerials couldn't cast more 40 yards brilliant brilliant times Steve.

It looks a great lake. Yep carp fishing was magical the word of mouth. We fished hard waters in the north, Would they fish 30 nights for one fish? the air max on nash have never experienced it. Lovely Husky, mines a pain but very lovable. Great vlog mate. Very watchable and honest what carp fishing is without being eliteist.

Totally agree - a lot of mystery has gone out of Carp Fishing - I spents days exploring Lakes when i was 17 - 35 years ago - whenever I came acroos a bivvy the adrenalin got going as I then knew the lake had Carp in - Seems today its about likes on social media
