Back in about 1978 / 79, a friend of mine (Brendan) wrote SLF a letter asking if they could please play at his 16th birthday in Lincoln. A bit naive maybe one could say?...A week later, he received a letter back saying...Sorry Brendan, but we can´t make it as we have touring obligations, but please find the enclosed cassette. We played the cassette at his birthday party at his parents home and it was a full studio version of "Happy Birthday Brendan" dedicated to him! Long live SLF. We still love you, mainly for your mucic but especially for that! 🤟

Yup. We used to call people like that "gentlemen". A bit harder to find, these days.

Loved this band. But sadly the venom and anger has gone from Jake's vocals.
@billparrish9200 Жыл бұрын
He's a middle aged man, for fuck sake. Nobody has 'venom' at that age. You get what called 'life experience '. Jesus man, grow up.

Basically SLF are Unionist..but thery`re saying is their want not nothing to do with protesents & Catholic divide! Be what you are....?
@itsclem13 жыл бұрын
Not quite true, the band when they wrote this had an equal split of Protestants and Catholics, this track is about Jake’s rejection of being treated as ‘star’ in how people started treating them differently once they had achieved some commercial success.
