Best thing about these videos: Turn on the close captioning. When it's just the saw running, CC says "Music". Nice to see the work is for the long term. Thanks,.

prescribedfire1953 not hard to find ... just prohibitively expensive ! You wood think the Saw is made out of gold with the prices some people are asking ! I got a good runner for a reasonable sum so they are out there

I came up with 28 sec for the O64 and 25.5 for the 461 or almost 10% quicker ... 76.5 vs 84.9 cc one wood think it wood be the other way around : You did mention the 064 had some miles on it though so maybe that explains the times ; also I believe you stated the 461 has the newest version of the insane-0 ss ... sure rips !

The 462cm and 462cmR are finally available here in NY ! I’ll be gettin me paws on one shortly (462cmR) ... a nice long bath in the “cauldron of performance” should do nicely ! Been nice to see the 462c in that mix - hopefully that’ll be comin soon ! 😎😎updated Jan 18 ... apparently the 462cm version is available as of now .... the 462cmR is not - just talked to dealer ... sorry all for the confusion
@tjlovesrachel5 жыл бұрын
Fabz Acres ohhh really..... do tell..... because I just picked up a 461r this week... I live in dutchess county ny ... and my dealer didn’t have any 462s... but I asked him and he said they will be here very soon... I just got the 461r because I didn’t know if they were going to stop making them with the release of the 462s... and I am also in withdrawal waiting on my psy-ko 362c to come back from the operating table... once I get the 362 back.... I think jacks gunna get my 461..
@fabzacres-blackcat5 жыл бұрын
Yah , my dealer emailed me yesterday... the 462cm is available; the 462cmR is not listed but a phone call from him may net a score ! I’ve got a Hotsaws101 461R that’s a ripper ! I think you’ll be pleased with both the 362c and 461R - you’ve chosen your builder wisely !
@tjlovesrachel5 жыл бұрын
Fabz Acres thank you for the reply... and I don’t doubt that I will pleased in the least... I looked around long and hard before I decided on jack... after seeing all of jacks videos I came to the conclusion that he is the best in my opinion... not only is he a true logger that uses his creations day in and day out... but he seems to have a passion for this... and his knowledge is amazing... and that’s the type of person I want wrenching on my equipment...just curious if you don’t mind sharing what zipkit have you chose on your 461r??...and do you have any videos of it ... I’m sure jack does if I go digging for them
@fabzacres-blackcat5 жыл бұрын
tjlovesrachel hi ! Google ported 461R payin the bills and click on the video ... iirc it was the “extreme” version ... I did add an unlimited coil from a 460 and a max-flow filter afterwards ... Also made sure to “seat” the rings properly ! I explained to Jack what I wanted and he delivered a ripper 461R ! There’s an old saying ... “ya get what ya pay for “ and I believe this to be true ... lotsa “Saw porters/builders” out there but ask yourself how many of em log or fell or process wood ? I’d rather lean on the guy who’s been around the trade his whole life than a guy who doesn’t even burn wood and showcases his saws cutting in “0hio Hardwood” I.e. cottonwood or poplar ... yeah I’d steer clear of those 2 birds from Ohio - Shine and Snailerizer , seems every time they put their heads together, they make an ass out of themselves ! Out

I really liked how the 461 turned out , it looked a bit hy reving in the wood than the 064 but noticed that slowed down when pulled the pistol grip up in the cut. Nyce work eatherway, you did mentioned something about the 395, hope to see that soon. Thanks for sharing !
@hotsaws1015 жыл бұрын
Alex SPP hi. Thanks. From my experience, the faster a chain spins the better it cuts. So having a saw that will turn higher rpms in the cut is the goal. I build them specifically to hold more rpms while in the wood according. The 064 is one of the really early insane-o builds - more like the extreme zippkit of today since I have refined the process. The 461 has combustion chamber work and is two stages more involved as well as not having cut somewhere ~ 2/2.5 million boards while using an am piston. The 461s are no slouch in this state of tune and will leave a stock 660/661 behind. With that, I'm pretty happy with the way this 046 performs. Thanks for watching.

My vote is for a nice 066/660 barrel. Wonder if there is a significant weight difference between OEM and Meteor...Did you use an OEM wrist pin?
@ianmartin72835 жыл бұрын
In stock form I prefer my 461 as they run at a higher rpm than the 64 and 66/660 so they are about equal in the wood stock. Weight is where I like the smaller saw but with port work the lower rpm saws do better with a long bar than the smaller high rpm saws. This is all in my experience with around 7 years total but just over 2 professionally cutting timber and being in the arborist field climbing and cutting

I have a MS460 with a barker box, running square ground, its way lighter that the 660 and seems to rev better ...running 24" bars on both its pretty close ... maybe its just the tune and chain but the 460 is a hungrier lighter saw and my favourite by a fair bit.

Fabz hi. They have the 10mm crank on the flywheel side. A guy has to be a little cautious putting to power to the ground in a day in & day out 064 work saw application. Well, imho anyway. Thanks for watching.
@fabzacres-blackcat5 жыл бұрын
hotsaws101 I’ve heard the cranks may be the weak - link on that saw so I hear ya loud and clear on an everyday cutter ... There’s a certain Ohio porter who holds the saw wide-open 4-stroking inches above the wood and slams the saw into the wood ... I’m sure this “method” of cutting is not conducive to crankshaft longevity !

If you were to buy a saw to run stock which one would you pick a 462 or 461?
@hotsaws1015 жыл бұрын
Chris hi. I "woodn't". I won't step off the landing with a stock saw. They cut like a nose bleed. As far as those two saws, they run just about the same in stock trim. The 461s are ~ 1.6 lbs more portly. But, they have way more potential for simple help like a better air filtration system. I think the 461s will last longer in the end since they don't come out of the box with a metered air leak. If weight is any issue the 462 weighs close to what the 60cc saws do. Thanks for watching. Thanks for watching.
