That 41” bar still looks short on there 😂. I ran a 60 on my 3120 and a lot of times I would run a 42 on my 066. But redwood is a lot softer than those hardwoods. You could always throw an extra port or two on the other side of that muffler. I think west coast saws sells them

I’m so happy to see you have finally got some good saws to work with I have had them all from the Mcalla to the home alite and the skills or the ones that they couldn’t tare up with the men that I have worked in the log woods I have gone through a 100 or so husky and polen but when I got the skills they had to stay all day and then they sobered up and I got some logs too the ramp and I didn’t need to take as many saws to the woods God Bless y’all have a blessed day

I got a couple of WCS clutch covers, easier to walk the chain back on, chip clearance is much much better - been ripping 35 inch firewood rounds, and the gunning site is recessed - paint doesn’t wear off and easy to re paint. Never had issues with the exhaust on bark boxes but I am usually wearing gloves and if the saw has a bark box, I added a WCS exhaust port on the side of the muffler.

I tried the bark box on my 660 with a 3/4 wrap. Had the same problem. I found that the Exile shotgun pipe worked much better. It deflects just past the dogs and on the bar, easily clearing the wrap handle.

Same here I use a full wrap and have fell trees my whole life, second generation logger. The universal power ports from West Coast install easy,sound awesome and provide more air flow, I put a port in the top of my 500 I muffler y works great

Remove those stupid spark arrestors from your saws, guys! They do no good at all, BUT instead they can frak your saw! Also, about breraking a new saw, we see other professionals saying that a saw, cause of how high RPM is working at, it requires a breaking period, which is the opposite with weedcutters, as they mention. Ofc, we cannot baby a saw when its out in the field cutting BUT, what if we let it work on idle, giving some rpms, from time to time, with breaks in between ofc, before we go out...Wouldn't that be better?

Agreed you need to run ethanol, free, red armor, fuel, echo, red armor fuel and remove that spark out of that muffler brother sounds meaner runs better and as a small engine technician for 10 years and a former landscaper and tree service there’s a difference lol

In my experience, the huge problem with spark arrestors is that eventually they will get covered with carbon, and this ofc can be catastrophic, especially for a person that DO NOT know or care to check it from time to time, so its better to remove it. Also, modern weedcutters and saws have catalysts, cause of those stupid laws, and this is ALSO another huge issue, as ive seen pistons getting fried cause of that. Some people remove it but it needs to know how to cut and mostly weld the muffler again.

@ agreed, but Eco armor doesn’t have carbon it’s ethanol, free ethanol. The gas is like alcohol to your body body. That’s what builds the carbon up, but I would just get some of needle, nose pliers and just poke that screen out simple as that

Always wondered about breaking in a new saw. 🤔 I start cutting and if your fuel is mixed right and mabey just a little rich on oil there really shouldn't be a break in period. I am glad you pointed that out. Thanks again good video.

Rip saw has some nice porting. Bit lean I can hear it on off throttle it chatters. Cut the tooth off the middle felling spike it allows the saw to cut even closer to the tree making the bar longer.

Echo has a cs1201 that's close, just not available in the US.

The CS1201 is 116cc not far off however it's a different breed of saw.... Old school like the stihl 090....it does have a long stroke so it's torquey but only revs to about 9k with a 36inch bar.... In stock trim that is..... The 880 and 881 are built to make power in higher rpm range...i agree echo should make a bigger cc saw for the US market but I think a 9310 is the shot based on the 7310 platform... Would be awesome to have a 93 cc cyclinder on that size saw.... Would be great competition to the 592 or the 661

Tim pretty much all the Stihl products use the T27 screw bolts they followed the keep it simple stupid to not make someone need multiple screwdrivers to do maintenance which is great
