I’m not all that convinced that the flywheel on there is the correct one, since we already know someone’s been in there messing with this machine. I have another point that you touched on but skipped over - an air leak. You need to pressure/vacuum test this machine to confirm one way or the other. More importantly for me, you left out “Air” as a requirement for internal combustion engines in order to run. This includes, in my mind, not only intake and exhaust, but the integrity of the sealing of the engine against air incursion anywhere. I suspect, but cannot prove, that an air leak can affect timing. FACTS - Fuel, Air, Compression, Timing, Spark!!!

New coil is coming in today. I went with aftermarket after going to the dealer for the OEM coil it was $130 and there are actually 2 different parts #s depending on the serial number. I will be addressing all your points in the last video this weekend my friend. Thanks for the input my friend. 👍

@@ZombieDaveAZ Thx so much for taking my comments well! I’ve only been at this approaching 3 years and am completely self-taught, so I’m definitely a Mister Knowitall! 😂 So far I’ve logged over 5000 hours on KZbin - averaging 5-7 hours a day, 7 days a week. Thanks to guys like you I’ve repaired everything from string trimmers to lawn tractors and just got my first commercial ZT job. Fingers crossed I don’t screw it up! 😉😂🔧👍

I think the whole issue is with the BR 600 ignition module that you used. Mick’s Mowers did a recent video on an HS 45 Stihl trimmer that popped and backfired. It ended up being an aftermarket ignition module. Modern ignition coils advance and retard the timing. The BR 600 ignition module could have a completely different ignition curve electronically causing the backfiring. Try a correct OEM module.

Thank you Thank you Andy. That's exactly the input I'm looking for. Going to order a new coil tomorrow. Thanks a million!!!

Probably correct. When it ran the two days it operated, it didn’t backfire or cease.

Could it slightly moved in shaft. Now piston timing is off. Might be wrong but think the two bolts are only things holding it in position.

That's the only thing I can think of because the fan came loose after the start up backfire. Yeah only 2 bolts hold it in place .

In somethings it fires slightly after TDC. Wear in items like key or key way in shaft. Could magnet be damaged slightly?

Maybe the magnet. The key is right on the money. I'm still working on it 🤔
