My boss man that builds lakes and ponds for a living asked me if I could fix his and I have it right here right now all busted open and all I see is a bad cam gear wheel with Cam followers that have been sitting for a while but the lifter rods are in good shape and the cylinder is good the Piston is good one ring was locked up on the Piston but I freed it up and cleaned all that up the Piston doesn't have slack in the cylinder either I'm cleaning up all the bearings and the timing gear wheel on the crankshaft because it's kind of rusty but not enough to cry about it because most of it's coming off with Scotch Brite. So with two new followers for the cam and a cam gear wheel and two new rings I'm going to get this thing running like brand new again considering there's no slack where the cam gear wheel goes with the pins holding them

I had an oil can exactly like that, Tom. Hurricane Katrina got it, so I had to buy a new one. I made sure it was made in USA, with a wider bottom, so it wouldn't tip over as easy. It has a longer stem which is good for reaching under tractors and putting a few drops of oil on the idler pulley bearings once in a while. Of course, I wipe off the excess oil so it doesn't get flung all over the belts after the mower is running. After 15 years of mowing they still don't have any play in the bearings, so it can't hurt.

I opted out sthil 4 mixes, switched to their 2 cycle kombi split shat units,i had 2 4 mixes engine failure

the older model had a lube distribution problem

The plastic cam melts and wears down, the compression release sticks as it melts. 😮

pull cord 1-2 exhaust the intake then look for arrow on flywheel the tdc
