The new STIHL FSA 30 cordless grass trimmer is the latest addition to STIHL’s AS System range of battery tools. This cordless grass trimmer is perfect for trimming areas in small gardens that your lawn mower can’t reach, such as lawn edges, cutting around obstacles and clearing small patches of grass.
The FSA 30 battery-powered grass trimmer is extremely lightweight, weighing 2.3 kg when powered by the 10.8 volt STIHL AS 2 battery. It has great balance making it easy to work in small gardens, plus the battery can be removed and used in any other machine in the STIHL AS System range. The AS 2 battery can be charged to full power in 70 mins using the STIHL AL 1 charger and you can check the charge status of the battery during use by pressing the indicator button on the side of the FSA 30 cordless trimmer.

On a full charge, you’ll be able to cut for up to 14 minutes when using the STIHL PolyCut 3-2 blades, which come as standard on the FSA 30 garden trimmer. Or, if you prefer to use a mowing line, you can fit pre-cut lengths of mowing line or switch to an AutoCut C 3-2 mowing head.

To use the STIHL FSA 30 cordless garden trimmer, simply push the rocker switch down and pull the trigger under the soft grip handle and you’re ready to go! Please make sure to always check for wildlife before starting work with the FSA 30.
Additional features of the STIHL FSA 30 grass trimmer include a tool-free adjustable length shaft and handle, which lets you set the FSA 30 to suit your height and can be rotated 90 degrees to make edging along lawns easier and more precise.
The angle of the mowing head can be adjusted to one of four positions too, so you can precisely cut next to flower beds or along pathways. Plus, there is a spacer bracket on the mowing head which means you can mow around obstacles or against fence lines without causing any damage. This is particularly important when trimming around trees as damaging the bark can be fatal to a tree.
Spare STIHL PolyCut blades can be stored on the underside of the machine and are simple to fit and replace on the FSA 30 grass trimmer too. Pull and lift the old blade up to release it from the head. To fit the new blade, place the blade on the mowing head and push it down to secure it in place. To make the PolyCut blades more durable, we also recommend soaking them in water for 24 hours before use.
What’s more, the FSA 30 battery-powered grass trimmer features a hanging eyelet so you can mount it in your shed or garage for space-saving storage. When using the FSA 30 grass trimmer, we recommend wearing face protection, goggles, gloves, and sturdy boots. No ear protection is required when using the tool as it’s so quiet.

Hello Stihl. I got a great offer from my local authorised Stihl dealership for a FSA 30 package (Charger, two battery and unit) and you mention that i can use the Autocut C 3-2 mowing head on it. But on your site it only says FSA 57 and FSE 52. Can you help explain that? Thank you. Brian

Hi Brian, thank you for your comment. AutoCut C 3-2 is compatible with the FSA 30, but it will dramatically reduce the operating time compared to using the standard PolyCut head with blades (included with the tool). We would only recommend using the AutoCut head if you have multiple spare batteries. And, thank you for pointing out the error on the website. The FSA 30 is a new tool and the compatible accessories have not been updated yet, but this will be amended very soon. Many thanks, STIHL GB
