The latest generation of iMOW® robotic mowers from STIHL mow your lawn automatically so you don’t have to, giving you a beautiful green lawn, without even lifting a finger. In this video, we’ll look at the new STIHL iMOW® range.
There are 6 new STIHL iMOW® robotic lawn mowers in the range with two models in each number series, starting with the 5 series models for lawns up to 1500 square metres, the 6 series models for lawns up to 3000 square metres and 7 series models which are suitable for lawns up to 5000 square metres.

Once you’ve chosen a model to suit your lawn size, you have the choice between a non-mobile connected version which has the white cover, whilst the darker grey EVO models are mobile connected, allowing you to connect to it from wherever you are.
This means you can control many functions from the MY iMOW® App such as sending it out to mow, sending it back to the dock, changing its mowing plan or checking on its status wherever you are. The connected iMOW® EVO models also have an LED matrix display on the top to show its status too.
Whilst the EVO models have a mobile connection, all iMOW® models can be controlled easily in the MY iMOW® App either via your home Wi-Fi network if it reaches across your garden, or via Bluetooth when you’re close to the machine.
These robotic mowers can be installed by laying or burying a thin wire around the outer edges of your lawn, and around any obstacles like shrubs, trees, flower beds or water features. A second wire in the centre of the lawn helps the robotic mower travel home to charge. If it comes across other objects in the mowing area, the iMOW® sensors simply kick in, slow it down, softly bump into the obstacle, and then it goes off in another direction.
Whilst you can install these mowers yourself, our network of STIHL Approved Dealers across Great Britain would also be more than happy to help you install them, which is recommended for trickier installations with complex gardens or multiple mowing areas.
iMOW® is a mulching mower - meaning it cuts small clippings of grass and drops it back into the lawn, acting as a natural and nutrient-rich fertiliser, with the bonus of never having to empty your grass box again. These robotic mowers cut the grass little and often so that the small clippings decompose quickly and easily, leaving no trace apart from a well-nourished, lush, green lawn. On the latest generation of STIHL iMOW® mowers, we use a swing tip blade system that’s efficient, plus the blades have 4 cutting edges which rotate each time the blade stops to help them last as long as possible.
STIHL iMOW® has a dynamic mowing plan that can be easily tailored to your needs, so it can be programmed to mow when you’re not using your garden. It’s quiet so it won’t disturb you if you’re having a quiet afternoon relaxing on the patio. A key advantage of the STIHL iMOW® is its quick mowing times, so you can spend more time enjoying the garden with a lawn that always looks freshly mown. Adjustable rain sensors let you choose whether it continues to work in the rain or makes up the mowing time when it dries up.
You don’t have to worry about charging the iMOW®’s lithium-ion battery either. It simply finds its way back to the weatherproof docking station and charges itself, ready for the next cut. If you want to quickly check the status of the robotic mower without opening the app, or perhaps someone in the family who isn’t using the app wants to check when it will next mow, they can press the info button on the top of the iMOW®, which will tell you when the next mowing session is. You can also send it home, send it out to mow, or lock it with the buttons on top of the mower.
It doesn’t matter if your garden isn’t perfectly flat either - iMOW®’s gradient sensors help it manage its speeds so it can handle up to 40% slopes with ease. There are also wheel kits to help it get up steeper slopes.
As with all other power tools, you should read the instruction manual before use, and we recommend children, animals and any smaller objects are not present while iMOW® is mowing.

Mine broke down before two months and it didn't work half the days because of the rain. It's been another month and it's still broken. The after-sales service is a disaster. The company does not provide replacement. Absolutely regret buying it.

Thank you for your comment and I'm sorry to hear about the issues you have been experiencing. Have you spoken to our Customer Services team at all? You can adjust the rain sensors so that it will still mow in the rain, although we wouldn't recommend having it mowing the lawn if it is really heavy rain or the lawn is sodden. Thanks, STIHL GB
