I was having problems with my 180 c that fit this description so I decided to watch this. When the video started I immediately thought "what's this kid going to show me that I don't already know?" Who would have thought to even look at the muffler screen? The boy nailed it! Before watching the video I disassembled and completely cleaned and blew out the carburetor, dumped the gas and put in fresh mix, and new spark plug. Still ran like crap. I thought to myself "it's got air fuel and spark, and it runs, what the hell's the problem?" Well, if the exhaust can't get out it doesn't matter what you put in it!🤣 It turns out you can teach an old dog new tricks! Good work my man! I hope this video has helped many others!

Australian models generally follow the trends, and all my saws have the spark arrestor screen. I use a butane gas torch to clean them occasionally, I also don't rush into using the saw - I let them warm up for a few minutes on idle, that gets the fuel flowing through the fuel system and gets the oil lubricating the chain/bar. In theory if fuel is good, and the saw can breathe it should run. And keep it clean. 😎
@steveboettner4095 жыл бұрын
Your idea of using the heat gun worked great. After scrapping the screen try using a stainless steel wire brush this will clean up the screen even better. Comment from one of the other videos he put the screen in acetone which took considerably longer to clean screen.

I fear it's the carburetor since there is no adjustment for the mixture which is asinine. Mixture changes with altitude due to atmospheric density. Just glad I bought it in an auction. LOL. Curious if there is a way to tweak mixture even without a mixture screw. It bogs and stalls even without a load.

If the gas is more than a month old dump it and go get some new stuff. If that doesn't do it, assuming you've already checked spark plug and air filter, you will want to do a full carb disassembly cleaning and blow out with compressed air if it has been sitting for over a year with bad gas in it. I always empty the gas tanks on all my small engines and run them completely out of gas when I'm putting them away for the winter.
