I just put a piston in a ms170 a few days ago and that saw had a spacer between the cylender and the coil. Did yours not have one?

Thick business cards work well to adjust the coil if you want too try it next time

Great..I mean it..."class" by Kyle.The only video I have found that really shows everything...! Question: I have a newer MS170 (2021)..is it identical (all working parts) or just slightly different..meaning your video and explanations will work? (clear as mud?

Just look at your short video..the follow up one where you talk about carbs...Should I by a different motor from Amazon if I want to use the original NEW Stihl Carburetor >> ( only ran for 8 minutes...gas had no oil in it ) ?

I don’t think every thin is 100% consistent with the aftermarket stuff . No guarantees

@@ericswenson322 I’m not 100% sure to be honest. I usually use the HIPA brand for aftermarket. But the Holzfforma worked best for me on this particular model. With that said it could work for you . Mine was used cleaned but used . The Stihl oem carb should have been fine . I’d say run the carb you have and see if needed then order a new .

Stock OG Stihl 170 should be 14,000 max. I wanna say this one is tuned to max right around 12,500 - 13,500

Make sure you dont buy a 60hz ultrasonic like mine, you will be better off with a 40hz just too let you know
