Stihl MS 261 C-M ONE-YEAR REVIEW (Is this the BEST all-round CHAINSAW?)

In today's video, I did a one-year review of my Stihl MS 261 C-M chainsaw. The Stihl MS 261 C-M is the best chainsaw for about every use in my personal opinion. I bought this chainsaw on my 14th birthday on July 21st last year.

I upgraded my rim sprocket and bar to 3/8th. Also put on WCS dogs, bash plate, custom chain roller and pin and WCS oil filter. It's a nice little saw. And WCS exhaust port.

I have the same saw and it is very comfortable and works great and on the manual you can do a reset if you have to 😁 and switching from winter to summer and vice versa is easy 🥳

I bought a MS 261 last year great saw just lacks power on the bigger wood im getting into. Its still great for limbing and smaller wood. I just bought my dads old 044 back from his friend he sold it to 30 years ago. The 044 is my new main saw.

@hidhshsj123 yeah. I think it's better with an 18" bar. 20" is too much in my opinion.

Why do you recommend the Mtronic? I think the biggest selling point I am seeing about these Stihl 261 saws is they can run forever. But By incorporating Mtronic it’s literally just added emission stuff for tree hugger laws, it’s adding potential weak points or possible areas for something to go wrong. I’m seriously torn on which one to get. I know the standard model is already slightly/factory tuned and you may need fine adjustments depending on elevation, winter, summer etc. But that’s pretty easy to do just by ear and running the saw. You have a hi/low speed needle and boom you’re are done. Whereas with Mtronic who knows how consistent this may be. I’m just thinking seriously. I really don’t know which to get. I’m looking at a 261 with 20” bar.

@videocardzrule354 m-tronic is good. It does nothing bad to the saw. It is more automatic and easier in my opinion.

Does the 261 use throttle linkage or does it use a throttle cable? I had a ms441cm for years and although absurdly heavy it was a good saw. That is until the throttle started sticking. It was in need of a throttle cable and I thought,well how hard could that be? I literally had to disassemble the entire saw just to replace the cable. It was a nightmare and my big fingers didnt help much..
