Building a dang good series saw ive fell timber an bucked up alot of timber with a 460 been on a 066 many yr now but last yr act 1year this October i been workn on an usen a ms461 it seems like a good saw to.

Thanks for the video. I have a MS 460 I bought used with a bottom end rebuild. At idle the chain started turning after a tank of gas. The saw ran good, cut good, but the chain was turning. I adjusted the low jet and throttle and could not get it to stop turning. The saw just kills when I adjust the low and throttle down. So I bought a brand new in the box HD-14C and put it on and got it to run. But hard starting and once running I adjusted low and throttle. Chain still turns and now the saw is hard starting. Would you do a video on the carb you are putting on the MS 460 you are rebuilding and show where you set the jets and idle.

I set the low and high at 1 turn out then start and adjust the clutch springs may be loose is why the chain wont stop buddy

MR Bellhopper, I enjoy watching your videos. glad that you are doing a Stihl saw, thus my question for you, I hope you can answer. my nephew has an older 048 AV I think that the coil went south. got a new coil but didn't fix the "no spark issue" so I pulled the flywheel and the ignition module under the flywheel night be the issue. however I do not know how to test it to see if it is actually bad. perhaps you could shed some light on that for me. As for your method of heating your bearings, I worked in a pump factory for 20+ years. induction heaters were used for heating the bearings to put them on the shafts. out in the field a propane torch was used. I've even seen bearings dipped in a vat or deep kettle of hot oil to expand them to go on a shaft. good stuff keep em coming .
