Excellent breakdown! I ruined one of these trying to get clutch off. Turned it in the wrong direction following advice of sales guy. I broke the shaft because he told me the wrong direction to turn. Thank you for taking the time to show this!

I would like to ty for taking the time to make this disassemble / reassemble 🤝 I'm a tree climber with a 194t with some nastNess to her after a couple drops she suffered ( 5 to be exact) without me the highest being around 80 ft. I closed my eyes and said there goes $500 she hit the ground still running never shut off until my grond man picked it up cut it off and it's good so I pulled her back up by my rope pulled the rope and finished the rest of the job. With that being said about a year later we both fell 60ft from a pine tree in SC. I landed on my saw (stihl running) I broke my back in 2 places along with other breaks ( I saw God that day ) after 2 weeks and a couple surgeries I walk out of the hospital. After being recovered enough to sort through the damage of my climbing gear I pulled the rope on that 194 it sounded awful for multiple reasons ( starter rope wise ) I took 4 zip ties on each direction I could and 1 pull she was talking some trash to me ( she was ready to go once again) kinda like an old panhead it just had a different sound but she was broken down but I knew she was OK so I located parts here and there and long story short your videos got a team going again I appreciate it. 👍

I've never had anything but ms200t and now the G111 clone of the ms200t for a top handle saw, so this is a very interesting difference to the metal housing of the ms200t that I'm use to. I wonder if this design of motor itself is more durable being completely incased in plastic with a smaller bottom end? It seems like it is well protected from outside damage, though I imagine the plastic portions of the saw are likely more costly to replace. Very cool video. 😎👍

I honestly haven't had a 194t apart myself, but my best guess is that there are SOME similarities at the very least. Glad some of it might help.

@@samishsawworks5870 Yeah it's very similar to the saw you take down here ... a few differences with how the fuel lines are routed to the carb but nothing that majorly different

GOOD VIDEO step by step I enjoyed it very much thank you. ......I like to ask about my Stihl 034 AV it ha s a TILLTSON (?) carburettor the "L" adjusting screw it is all right but the ""H" is a problem ...to get some power I have to screw it all in which it is not right as it suppose to be ONE FULL TURN OUT ...also it makes a lot of smoke ... any suggestions ? Thank you

Would you be able to list the symptoms of a bad impulse line. I’m trying to get a stihl 192tc running correctly. It fails to idle but I can cut if I keep the rpm up but this is indeed dangerous. I’ve replaced the carb and tank vent and other parts. Thanks

Thanks to your helpful video, I did a disassembly of my 192 to replace all the fuel lines, impulse line and rebuild carb. I found where the nipple on the handle for the impulse line was broke and thought that was my issue. After replacing the handle and putting the saw all back together it still doesn’t run well. Some questions I have. The impulse line that I got from Stihl was noticeably smaller diameter but I was able to get it on the nipples. I’m concerned that it is a restriction and also I’m surprised there aren’t gaskets on both sides of the carburetor. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you for the video.

Thought I should add. I did replace the intake boot also.
@samishsawworks5870
@samishsawworks5870 2 жыл бұрын
Sorry I didn't see your comment sooner. Not sure if this is still relevant or not. Is the inner diameter of the impulse line smaller, or just the outside? You can just replace the impulse line with fuel line of larger inner diameter if it's a point of concern, but outside of being pinched, it should be providing enough pulse for the carb to pump fuel. Did you make sure the fuel line are hooked up correctly on the primer bulb? There are no gaskets on the carburetor. The air filter side of the carb, where the plastic filter holder mates up to the carb, doesn't have to be an air tight seal. Where the carb mates to the saw, the rubber intake boot should protrude through the plastic saw housing. The rubber flange of the intake boot is what the carb seals against. No gaskets needed. I would make sure that the rubber intake boot flange is flat against the saw housing and is in good Shape. The 192t are also notorious for having bad accelerator pumps in the carburetors. www.chainsawcollectors.se/phpbb3/viewtopic.php?t=16521

The 192tc is said to had a cylinder groove for EPA that lowered its compression and perfomance. What are your thoughts of that feature? Thanks
@samishsawworks5870
@samishsawworks5870 2 жыл бұрын
The theory (I believe) is that it bleeds off compression for starting, but once running at 10k+ rpm, the compression loss is negated. I can not imagine what Stihl's reasoning behind it was. It's a 30cc saw for crying out loud. Anyway, they have a considerable less amount of compression. Stock for stock I'm not sure if there is a huge noticeable difference. (I've never ran them stock) Once you give them a muffler mod and timing advance there is definitely a difference between the two. If I had to rebuild, I'd definitely go with the older style cylinder. If I had one currently with the groove, I'd just run it.

Awesome detail. I have 193t. Don’t know much about chainsaw just that it doesn’t want to even crank anymore. Bought it used it started when I bought it now it’s just sitting I tried adjusting the idle screw I did tuneup and I came to a conclusion I think I got a lemon 🍋 chainsaw. Do you know if it’s even worth it to me to buy a rebuilt engine maybe a Chinese engine if they even make them. I did buy a aftermarket carburetor and it did start now it doesn’t? What would you recommend me for this chainsaw I just can’t get rid off I like it to much that I would like it to get it up and running if I can. I paid $250 stihl ms193t used bang up .

Sorry I missed your question months ago. I'm just seeing it now. Not being able to see it first hand, My first step would be to remove the clutch cover and the muffler and see if the cylinder is scored. If it is NOT scored/damaged, then there is little to no reason to buy a rebuilt engine for it, & we can move onto other areas to look. SIDE NOTE: I've never had good luck with aftermarket carburetors on saws. I've been through too many headaches with them. I rebuild the factory carbs, or buy oem factory replacement if needed. There are a lot of other places we can look, but as a second place to look, I would make sure the impulse line is still hooked onto the nipple under the rear handle area (you don't have to have the saw apart to see it) and is in good shape. Shown at the 6:15 mark in this video. The other simple check is spark. If cyl. Is good, impulse line is hooked up, and you have spark, then we can move onto possible fueling issues.
